Well I have asked grandpa marwood to babysit a few times now, but he keeps asking me to make him a blizzard and turn it upside down before handing it to him, not sure what that means |

With a 8 month pregnant wife, and a running around 2 year old, stressful is an understatement lol.
Our family cat of 5 years had to suddenly be put down 2 days ago too which is definitely never an easy time. Really looking forward to the draft and being fully moved in. Will have a brand new living room and TV setup to watch it on - Codes1087

I don’t “love” any players, that said, Luongo was a great goaltender, he has almost every statistical goaltending record in franchise history. But the TEAM couldn’t win the final game so he’s a bum right, lol, (frank) me this fan base is full of idiots.
Why can’t/couldn’t we just be happy we have one of the top three offensive defensemen and be happy about it. Pay him accordingly. Again, we’re so afraid of nice things because our management overpays bums like Eriksson and Sutter and Beagle etc. etc.
Pay him up front and worry about the next five year window with him, Pettersson, Horvat, Boeser, etc. all giving us a chance to win.

I don't agree with your idiotic position, so does that mean Alberta has sucked the life out of me , as well.
Just because you like someone and others don't makes them idiots...maybe take a look in the mirror , next time you talk about idiots. |

I can see Panarin getting long term . Karlsson I doubt will get long term. - VANTEL
Someone will for sure, whether he wants to play forthe team that offers it is another story but I think it's out there for him. |

no, it doesn’t, you’re not fully grown yet so your brain hasn’t fully developed, just a guess?
It isn’t about “liking” someone or not liking someone, it’s about paying great players to make your team better.
The notion that Karlsson, or any other great player, shouldn’t sign with the Canucks because he might hurt us down the road is absurd.
The fact is the Canucks need a couple offensive defensemen RIGHT NOW to help them be in the offensive end more. You’re not paying a guy like Karlsson because you want him to be a great defender, you pay him because you want/need offence from your backend and he does that in spades.
If you’re worried about his contract because our GM is an idiot who’s consistently given out bad contracts then call out the GM. If Karlsson wants to play in Vancouver then properly structure his contract so you get five great years out of him but hope for seven.
Guys like you don’t want him because he doesn’t defend well, and, he had a disagreement with another player on the bench lol. Ya that’s never happened before in NHL history. That’s completely different than complaining you think his contract would hurt us in six or seven years without even knowing what his contract would look like.
And for the record, I never once called him an idiot (definitely inferred though lol), I said our fan base is full of idiots. He didn’t directly call me a jackass either, for the record. Perhaps you can let him fight his own battles? |

lol you are probably one of those jack-asses that loved Luongo and his contract.
Go ahead champ...take on Karlsson then whine about his contract for 8 years...
Nothing is free. An albatross contract is not what this team needs right now considering we have Hughes waiting in the wings.
Man it's a good thing you aren't our GM.
 - LordHumungous
An interesting comparison. Luongo will likely be a first ballot hofer, for sure HOF goalie the only one ever from Vancouver. The best goalie weve ever had, by far. Similarly, Karlsson would be the best offensive dman weve ever had, not even close and likely will be a first ballot hofer as well. Good comparison, but not in the way intended it. Karlsson is a defensive liability, but also is easily a top3 offensive dman in the league. While Luongo's contract is terrible, doesn't actually take away from how good he was. I do hope we don't go crazy on Karlsson, but even with Hughes he still fills a huge need on the powerplay/right side. Also, how fun would that powerplay be with EK, QH, EP, BB and BO. Put both offensive guys with solid defenders 5v5. Yes EK continues to be a defensive liability, but he does play with a lot of heart and is a proven playoff guy. Still prefer Panarin, but that's my opinion. For the record, I don't think Karlson should have ever got a Norris, but to deny the offensive advantage he brings is full on stupidity. |

lol too many forest fires here being set by you BC eco-terrorists pushing your climate change agendas to worry about Alberta affecting the brain.
Look, we have finished 29th 26th and 23rd respectively in the past three seasons and the rebuild os clearly on whether the team wants to admit it or not. There is a time and a place for a Karlsson type player and it isn't now. Locking ourselves down with an 8 X 10 contract is not what this team needs right now.
Now like you said if he would take less term and money great but it just isn't going to happen that way. We have Hughes here waiting and he'll be a game changer. We are gonna be giving Hughes Big dollars in 2-3 years so strapping the cap with Karlsson makes no sense especially since Petey is gonna require big cash as well and possibly Demko.
Look ahead a bit. This team is not really gonna be a PO team next year. Continue the path we are on and get that RHD we need and a top 6 UFA winger for Bo and see where next year goes. If we sign types like Panarin and Karlsson and the team sputters there will be no cash for Hughes-Pettersson and Demko and we'll end up with the leafs Cap situation which we don't need.

In 2011 we had Ehrhoff help our PP be one of the best in the league, 2012 Edler (49) and Bieksa (44) both had 40+ point seasons and another great season and PP.
Why don’t you guys want great players unless they’re a bargain? - Pacificgem
Yes we added great ingredients for that cup run but we already had a top 10 roster. That's what you do when you are poised to make a run not sign a Karlsson for 8 years after just finishing 23rd...lol |

All in good fun, it’s the internet, I just like giving you the gears because you’re an Albertan. At the end of the day we want the same thing.
IMO it is time to start adding, this team has been building since it drafted Horvat six years ago. Whether you trade, if you’ve stockpiled assets, or sign ufa’s, it’s time to start adding top six not bottom six players and/or top four defensemen. |

You can’t sign him for eight years, facts are you can only sign him for seven unless you trade for his rights, which would be dumb, but I’m assuming that’s what you want to do as you keep saying eight years. |

You are probably the biggest supporter of signing him on this board. I used to be for it but after observing him with his teammates in the playoffs I changed my mind. That said, I maintain my position that he will choose the Canucks. |

I’m tired of losing, I’d like to take a step forward, sue me
I’d also like to sign Panarin and offer-sheet Kapanen. |

I used to go to a church where if your phone went off during service, you had to bring a big box of timbits the next Sunday. Not so healthy as there seemed to be timbits every other week during the break. |

Times are a changing . I have installed Wifi in about 5 churches now. They need the NFL scores during service. True fact.
