Once drafted, how soon could Kakko sign his elc? Hopefully right on the stage after hes drafted!
- Slimtj100

You guys are going to draft him and he is going to fall off the stage and get a career ending concussion.

Marc Seidel, draft guy, says Kakko is probably better then Laine at that age.

And not a slam dunk Devils take Hughes over him

Byram is his 3rd guy. Says Chicago could trade that pick too, that would be something

Seider is his second best dman. I kinda like him at 20. RHD

We all will be on pins and needles at the draft. If New Jersey says, "the NJ Devils select from the US National team...." this blog will have a big exhale.

I wonder if that is someone on the Caufield or Turcotte kool-aid and trading up to make sure no one else grabs him. Depending on the team, Byram still might be there.

I won't be disappointed with an eventual Hall-Hischier-Kakko line, but I just don't see the Devils passing on Hughes.

That's going to leave you guys with one hell of a 1-2 punch down the right side with Kakko/Kravstov.

Also, I agree Byram should be #3 and a team would probably pay Chicago quite a haul to draft him, although with Keith and Seabrook getting up there, I don't know why they would trade the pick.

I’m looking at the off-season this way:

Fox was the big D addition. Now they’ll let these what seems like 50 or so prospects they have lol play out back there, and evaluate as it goes on. No Trouba, EK, Subban or anyone like that. They do have a lot of money tied up on D right now and I know it is pretty such is a dumpster fire, but they have so many kids to evaluate from. I’m even getting off EK for this reason haha

make a trade for a center. If you think about it, they really haven’t replaced Hayes yet and you just can’t count on Chytil, Lias or Howden being the number two just yet imo. Center is way more of a priority then D right now imo.

Then obviously sign Panarin

I just think the focus will, and should be, on the forwards, I see lots of turnover happening there

- Slimtj100

I disagree with trading for a center when we have 3 guys that could easily become a #2 center in a year or 2 and have Strome. So we give up assets, have a guy for 3-5 years blocking 3 guys that could be the same or better and have to trade them.

He's gonna run back to Finland.

We haven't talked about his character issues yet, skipping the combine to drink and party in Finland after the WC victory

Nah, if we blow this, it will be to draft yet another speedy pass first two way center with limited offensive skills. Peyton Krebs welcome to NJ.

I heard awhile ago that LA wants Byram bad, so that would be the team id think. Not sure what La would give them with the 5 for it. Vilardi? Bwahahahahaha

They are so (frank)ed with the ages of their players and the years left on these contracts, there's going to be a lot of current LA Kings finishing their careers on the injured list on Arizonas roster.

Just move them to wing. You can never have to many centers, like ever. And
Dmen kids can’t be blocked?

Look at the players in the pipeline, two maybe 3 centers and like 10 realistic Dmen I’d say

He doesn't play for the USDP though, so it doesn't fit the joke. You could have at least said Caufield lol

I love that Carter said he'd pretty much refuse to play for any other team if they trade him

That and any of the centers that have been suggested on this thread are better than the centers sans Zib on this team.

It would probably get vetoed by the league, by I'd call him out on that and trade him for like a 7th. For the Kings, the cap space is probably more value than any assets they'd get for him anyway. Pretty much any team in the league would give up to a 5th for a roll of the dice on Carter if they could fit him on the cap, even if they'd knew there was a 90% chance he'd never suit up for them.
