I don't think I fell asleep till after 4 am after that game, kept watching it over and over again. Back in the days when you had to tape it on the VCR or you usually were fuc*ed. I'm not sure if at that point MSG would replay the games yet, that started in 95/96 or so.

Also that was the very last year when home team broadcasts would air the games right through to the finals. After 94 it became only the first 2 rounds were home broadcast and then it was ESPN for the conference finals and Cup Finals. Now its just 1 round for the home team broadcasts.

So how many people almost ended it all when Devil's tied it with 8 seconds left

Devs if they won that 01 series would have been a definitive dynasty, 95-2000-01 and 03. When they lost that Game 6 at home I didn't think they would win on the road in Gm 7. That was the Ray Bourque series.

Plus the game within the game between Otto and Messier all series long. If they had done that stuff to each other off the ice, they both would have been arrested! Great memories!

For sure. Potvin vs. Cujo (St. Louis) was a fantastic goalie duel as well that spring. Also, Potvin vs. Detroit (I think it was Cheveldae (sp?) if I remember correctly).
