It’s been quite a day. A team managed to do some meaningful winning with Brayden Schenn and Gostisbehere is coming out and saying he’ll play anyway he wants. Doesn’t matter because the players decide what they do.
I was just thinking.
Sidney Crosby, Patrice Bergeron and Johnathon Toews should move themselves to wing. To avoid wear and tear and so they can have their best offensive seasons a year ago. - SuperSchennBros

People think I’m a clown? I wasn’t wondering this at all.
People think I’m a clown because I’m right all the time. |

Brayden Schenn was almost a Bruin but the Blues decided not to trade him. So both sides wanted him...

They hadn't played for 11 days which is an eternity in hockey. They outshot the Blues 38-20 and erased a 2 goal deficit like it was nothing. This series is over. |

This series could turn into a laugher. There wasn’t much doubt going into it who was going to win anyway.
(frank) Boston. |

Living where I do, the Bruins rank right up there with the Penguins and Rags for me. I agree with Sam, (frank) Boston. |

Me too...going to see 3 next week
I was able to catch the game progress with split screen for scores.
Once I saw the penalties at 4 to 1 I knew the agenda

So happy the Flyers didn't get Parayko. If you think Ghost is bad defensively, what have these 3+ playoff rounds said about Parayko? Dude is unable to keep players to the outside and loses board battles to guys half his size. |

If you think the league has an agenda, why would it make sense for Boston, a city whose entire population is going to tune in anyway, and a team that just won 8 years ago, to win?
Wouldn't the city that doesn't currently have as big of a fan base and who has never won one before be better for the NHL as a corporation? Think of all the new fans they'd make and the rush on merch the average St. Louis fan would go crazy for. |

Honestly the way I read Ghost's quote is that success will follow him by playing a confident game, which for him is anticipating the play and jumping into routes, turning defense into offence. When he's playing well and with confidence, he is absolutely elite in this respect.
However, if he second guesses himself for a half second, then he gets caught in no man's land. His game is what it is... High Risk, High Reward. I doubt that any coach will succeed in making him the epitome of a 2-way defender. I don't think they should.
That's the essence of his quote. He has to play his game if he's going to be effective in this league. I don't disagree with him quite honestly. This doesn't make me a defender of him either. Perhaps a team doesn't want to have a player like that on their team. I can understand why. He doesn't play the tradition role of a defense man. He is however a beta version of a new type of defense man in the NHL. Take his pluses with his minuses or don't have him on your team... just don't try to make him something he's not. - mmcclatchy
Here is my issue. We have a decent group of players that think and act similarly to what Ghost is saying. That is why coach after coach gets fired and we get the same streaky play year in and year out. We have a group of players that think they are "above the system". Giroux, Ghost, and Voracek for sure. And when your top 3 players and leaders are doing this, its hard for guys like Konecny and others to follow suit.
IMO a trade of Ghost and Voracek would be best for team chemistry. You can get your 2nd line center from Ghost... maybe a Kadri, or RNH, or maybe you get Kapanen or Nylander and use the money you free up from Voracek to sign your 2nd line center, Duchene.
Giroux-Couturier-Kapanen
JVR-Duchene-Konecny
Farabee-Patrick-Lindblom
Raffl-Laughton-Hartman
Provorov-Sanheim
Morin-Myers
Gudas-Hagg
If you can sign a UFA defenseman, fine, but I think the defense will be fine with this. Most of the team has the 1st outlet pass easy for AV's system. |

Parayko is 6'6" 230, I haven't seen him lose a board battle to a 3'3" 115 pound guy yet. |

Crazy thought but with Pittsburgh trying to move Kessel would you as the Flyers try to pull this move? Like how Streit went from Tampa to Pittsburgh.
Kessel doesn't seem to want to go to Minnesota so in some way you do a 3 way. Zucker to Pittsburgh, Voracek to Minnesota and Kessel to Philadelphia.
Yes I know Kessel is a little one dimensional but that one dimension is really good.
Obviously more piece would probably be needed but I have grown to like what Kessel can do with putting the puck in the net |

Rather have Jake over Kessel - arichardson22
The reason to move Jake is to get rid of a 1 dimensional player that doesn't follow directions well. Picking up Kessel is just swapping the one dimensional play-making for one dimensional goal scoring. That's what we have JVR for. |
