Different times ...Gillis era had a high calibre team in a time where kids weren’t given an opportunity to make mistakes in the nhl...salary cap was fairly new and teams didn’t realize the importance of using ELC contracts to their advantage - Redmile247
Again, if the players were good enough, they wouldve found a home elsewhere....different era of not.... |

That’s kinda my point. - 1970vintage
So Murray was probably getting ripped for Brock scoring a bunch on him and pointed out your point ...hard to fault him for most of them as they were lucky ...but Brock still ripped a couple |

I don’t buy into that but that’s just a difference of opinion I guess

I don’t think Gillis has many potential NHL’ers coming through so it’s just skewed list by some Benning fanboy.
The funny thing is, Judd Brackett served seven years as an Amateur Scout in the Canucks organization prior to being named Director of Amateur Scouting on August 4, 2015.
He’s obviously better at his job now - Pacificgem
It’s not Benning, I’m not sure if you’ve heard |

I know many voters of all different political stripes, that are considering voting Green party, including myself, as they are fed up with the Liberals, Conservatives and the NDP.
Edit; I am taking Boston, for the Cup. |

Same. Most people are fed up with the same old same old. All 3 major parties are awful and offer no leadership or sustenance. We are voting Green next time.
I still think the Liberals will form a minority gov't, that should keep their pious arrogance in check. |

After I saw Elizabeth May Drunk on stage telling people how much class Khadr has... lost any respect I had for her. That wiener that Turdo payed off, could have been the one that blew up my bro with an IED while serving our country.

I like a minority government, forces them to work with other parties.
Hoping the Greens get a decent candidate in our area, as they have usually just put in a token candidate in our riding.
Canucks will finish bottom 15 next season. |

Our last one was pretty flakey and this riding is usually a very close race between the Conservatives & the NDP, so we usually have to vote with vomit in our mouth . We decided we are not voting against some one anymore, we will be voting for some one/party. |

Scheer would be worse than Trudeau, which is saying a lot. It’s a two horse race for me. Marwood, keep my name out of your mouth. Your little crush is starting to creep me out. |

I have always voted NDP, but our MP, Nathan Cullen, is calling it quite, so without him running again( he served us well), there isn't much in the way of the Greens to take a good serious run here.
Boudrias is still my all-time favourite Canuck. |

One GM had a top team handed to him the other took over the same team on the big decline.

This argument has been going on for days now....JB haters are just going to hate for the sake of hating with a complete disregard for facts.
Probably time to stop bothering the fight. In the end JB is the GM and likely to be for a few more years.... |

Gaudette was a 5th rounder pick, and better than any pick Gillis ever made outside of Horvat, who was a top 10 pick. Which means Benning picked better outside the top 10 than Gillis ever did, and he did it with a single 5th rounder pick. Not to mention Boeser at 23, Demko at 36 is better than any first round pick outside the top 10 Gillis ever had, same with 2nd 3rd 4th, etc. Outside the top 10 Benning has a much better track record than Gillis. Benning failed to speed up a rebuild by bridging the gap between out aged core and Horvat, But if Gillis wasn't trash at drafting, it never would have been needed. - Retinalz
If MG had more vision other than what Burke & Nonis built for him he could still be the GM or at least rehired by now. He didn’t have to do much other than find a few players that would be here still. |

Once you get past the second round the GM has limited input, that’s when your scouting department earns its money.
Hutton is poop but he’s more of a proven NHL player than Gaudette is. I love that Gaudette pick though, I hope he can push Sutter out the door. - Pacificgem
Past the 2nd round is where a GM earns his keep. Meetings with scouts throughout the year & watching games & tapes is a given. |
