I agree, I’m this regard Benji has done well for the team. We’ll see how many UFA years he eats up on this deal for BB.
One more reason to keep going after the American collegiate players in the draft. I think Boldy is our guy - 1970vintage
I hope he's still there but I doubt it. I think we will have our choice of Zegras or Caulfield, Krebs, Newhook and the dman.

Well, remember that players committed to college have to pay their own way to come to summer development camp, and training camp, and they don’t have a contract, so if they hurt themselves they are (frank)ed. - 1970vintage
I think the team can bring them out for training camp but none of the other camps and there is a set number of day, I think 3.
Boldy would be a longshot to play this year. |

Yeah, you don’t see college guys at training camp. School has already started, so they need to be sure they have a spot locked up, a la Hughes last year. |

Turcotte would be great but I think you would need LA or CHI's pick.

Once Kap realised that Weise is not a top 9 player it was too much for him to bear. Career 4th liner.
Very similar to Pressy realizing Gaunce is an AHL lifer.

My boy Raphael Lavoie, with another nice goal, in a losing effort, in Memorial Cup championship
https://youtu.be/WaoKbYQ2HAM - Reubenkincade
I wasn't going to watch the Mem cup but friends wanted too. He has literally kept falling down the rankings. I'm not sure he's even worth a 1st round pick anymore. He is less engaged defensively than Goldobin and probably cherry picks more than Goldy too. |

Does anyone actually believe anything Nick Kypreos says?
Apparently he's on record as saying that the Canucks are considering using an offer sheet this offseason........... |

Yet his coach, plays him on the PK, but, the great minivan, knows more about prospects, than an organization that has developed several top-end prospects, over the past few seasons. - Reubenkincade
Actually, its been pretty well documented that he isn't the best defensively and his compete level is very low.
I would agree that he could potentially slide out of the 1st round.
Just because his coach uses him in those situations, doesn't mean he's great at it. Just means either a) his other options are poor or b) they are trying to teach him that side of the game
It's part of development..... |

I have a feeling he gets picked between 20-32. Not sure he falls out of the first round, but I think he slides a bit. I don't think he had a very good memorial cup game, despite his goal. Hes a big boy, skates ok, always seems to be in the right spot offensively, but I didn't think he had a very spectacular defensive game. Having said that, I dont think he can jump up, or drop down, multiple slots based off of one game, so we will see what happens. Don't think the upside warrants taking a chance on him at #10 though. |

I see his flaws, being similar to Brock's, he doesn't engage defensively, very well, he sometimes doesn't appear to be giving his all, but on the other side, he drives the play unlike Brock.
Can't see why we wouldn't want another player who plays similar to Brock, but with a little more feisty in his game.
Also, I doubt he drops out of the top half of the draft, as Flyers, Coyotes and Habs, will consider taking him. IMO |

Can't say I know much about him other than what I've read and it isn't sparkling.
Same with Kaliyev.....great offensive instincts that will entice teams to take a chance on them but the compete level needs to increase to be successful in a NHL that stresses speed and compete...
Given the scouting reports, I can't see either Kaliyev or Lavoie having an impact in the NHL....
I reserve the right to be wrong tho............ |

In all fairness, I am not very good at evaluating forwards, moving on from developing leagues, although I have a fairly decent record on defenseman that I have liked, with some most recent wants, Theodore over Shinkaruk, Haydn Fleury over Virtanen and I was hoping Sanheim would be available, but he will be a very good defenseman for flyers and Dobson will be a Norris candidate for years. |

Very badly wanted to make a trade to grab dobson when he fell. Dobson and Hughes dont know what it would have cost but the kid is a stud |

Dobson will be a true #1 that this team has been lacking forever, which is why, this year, I wouldn't be opposed to dropping down a few spots and getting Sieder, who I believe is the 2nd best defenseman available in this draft and can be a #1, although not at the Dobson level.
Plus, the extra asset for dropping down a bit, would be an added bonus.
edit: I am never usually in favour of dropping down, but sometimes I make exceptions to my rules😁 |
