Dude. As much as you want to see it happen, the Leafs aren't trading Marner for that level of quality.

These boards have been filled all year with people certain he will be offer-sheeted for a 4-first round pick compensation.

As much as I like Jones, no way I trade Matthews. He could very easily be the most dominant center in the league in the next season or 2. That is easily the toughest asset to find, even moreso than a #1 Dman.

they should probably keep kadri. i know he has his issues but is actually a very very good player, especially at that low cap hit.

nylander can be traded but it would be best to let him raise his stock a bit first since it undoubtedly dropped a bit this past season. imo if you cant get kapanen or johnsson for 2.5-3.5 mil on a bridge deal then they should be the ones to go. they can definitely get you something good on defense.

if you can sign BOTH Kapanen and Johnsson in the 2.5 - 3.5 range - why wouldn't you keep them both and move Nylander?

surely if Kapanen or Johnsson can get you an upgrade on defense - Nylander can do the same or better.
