Yea the isles will be trying too but the arenas and the fact he wants to play in a city will give the rangers the edge i think. I'd take skinner as a second choice

I wouldn't put it past Uncle Lou. He knows what he's doing and the fact that you guys were close this year will be a factor.

Yeah, Skinner would be a good "consolation" prize. Especially for a team who's already in the playoff hunt. I hope he doesn't come back into the division. He plays his best games against the Rangers!

Not a Rangers fan but you have to like what they've done. Lottery win didn't hurt either. If they sign Panarin, they will definitely compete for the playoffs. So many good young players. How did this happen so quick? Would have been nice to see them suck a while longer

I think the word from management has been that they'll continue to be active this off season, so expect some trades. I could see Vesey, Namestnikov, Strome, Fast, even Kreider potentially dealt, which opens up enough cap to make it happen.

All that said, I would be surprised to see them strike a deal with EK. They have so many D prospects, so it might make a jammed up situation worse. Plus we've been terrorized by signing the big name dman enough! You never know though.

Is Bob Really an upgrade on Lehner when you factor in the price and length of the contract that he's going to want ??

Let the Habs overpay for Ebs .. then they can have 3 terrible contracts on the books.
They'd be better of trading Weber for Phildo.

Well Bob is an Elite Goalie where as Lehner was an average goalie that put up great numbers last season before dying in the 2nd round. Bob played really well playoffs IMO

Penguins also should look to dump Hornqvist. $5M+ for the next 4 years is just ugly. Someone might want him if they need some presence in front of the net and play a slower style offense.

If Speed is all that matters why is Mason Raymond not in the NHL?

Speed is nice to have but its not a requirement to win. Skill and strength are more important. You cant strictly rely on scoring on the rush. You have to be able to control the zone and cycle the puck. You cant do that if you are being outmuscled along the boards. Look at the two teams in the finals right now, who there is considered a speedy player? They are skilled\strong players. None of the guys on Boston or St.Louis are going to be participating in the fastest skater competition any time soon.

Hornqvist's points total took a hit last season but I still believe he will bounce back and be a good 2nd line fwd.
