I think there’s no way to rank players effectively.

It’s obviously easy to say McDavid/Crosby/Kucherov etc are the best.

But there is just too many variables past that for a lot of guys

I have doubts too but I just have to laugh.

Thompson’s two NHL coaches he’s played under have both been fired for being awful.

Thompson’s been very very good in the AHL.

For some reason to a few, a good coach won’t help him, but could TOTALLY turn Ristolainen (who has 400+ NHL games under his belt) around.

I think TT ends up a career 3rd liner personally. Defensively sound or not

There’s a big difference between saying I think the ten best players in the league are ....in this specific order, and player x isn’t living up to his draft position.

No, but I'm A. Cheap and B. Believe that you don't pay any player a giant salary for long term until you absolutely have to, i.e. no more RFA rights, unless the it's a no brainer player like Eichel or Dahlin.

Yes, if for nothing else than for data gathering.

As for filling Sabres need, not so much IMO as the LhD isn't a problem area with Dahlin, Pilut and McCabe there now. McCabe could play on the right, which might be the play down the road for him when Bogo's contract expires and IF they trade Risto.

Brodie has 1 yr at $4.8m...does he get $5.5 -$6.5m next contract? Where do you slot him to get proper value...it would have to be on 2nd pairing.
