Lou is a problem, but Chia Pet got the ball really rolling along with what's his nuts in Buffalo. RFAs never got UFA level money until recently. Hence RFA. It doesn't seem to matter much any more and I can't figure out why. They have zero leverage.

I get the CAP is going up... but I don't equate a guy like Nelson with a guy like Kadri on any level. SKill, nope, stats over the recent seasons, contribution, etc - but that's just me.

I wouldn't be a GM that would sign him at $6M a season... regardless of CAP increase. Lou has a goalie to sign and Anders Lee... and next year will need to sign Barzal... he's got no business givng Nelson that contract for that duration (my opinion).
