Throughout their history, the Blues have quietly been a very respectable franchise. At one point, they had the longest streak of making the post-season in professional sports, at 25 years.

they've gone about their business in the same way this year. They weren't always a headline, but steadily played their way into the cup final.

i think St Louis deserves a cup.

I'm rooting for them, and I think they're going to win it.

As a Blues fan who has suffered a long time, I have to admit it's nice seeing positive vibes like this posted by other team's fans. Thanks for keeping the great mood from last night's victory going into the workday.

The fact that the last 6 cups, and 13 of the last 16 were won by the team with the shorter rest period, makes it even more baffling that the NHL would add in another 5 days between games. No reason this couldnt have started Saturday night or something.

NHL must have expected San Jose to win and figured Thornton and Pavelski would need to extra rest.

Ahh, umm
Boston had the streak stopped at 29 yrs , Chicago and Detroit both went 28 years, what you misquoted was...

The Blues have the record in professional sports for longest playoff streak WITHOUT winning a championship at 25 yrs.

I think one aspect not typically considered is the teams that the Blues & Bruins defeated to get to this point:

Blues: Jets - Stars - Sharks
Bruins: Leafs-Jackets-Canes

Taking this comparison into consideration, the Blues had the much harder road to the Finals. The Blues beat 3 solid Cup contenders. I would question whether any of the Bruins opponents were TRUE Cup contenders. This is no knock on the Bruins. Just saying this will be a bigger test for Boston, than any of their previous opponents. The Blues defeated Ben Bishop. He was hot as well. Beating Rask will be difficult. I get it. I just think the Blues are deeper than the national media realizes.

By reputation only did the Blues have a tough road.

The Jets were shambles and were hitting a fraction of their rosters potential.

The Stars dressed Roman Polak.

The Sharks have one of if not the worst starting goalie in hockey and were pretty banged up after playing 14 games in 2 rounds.

Hurricanes had the best team and played the best out of the six teams beaten by a cup finalist.

The Leafs outplayed the Bruins, deserved to win and the Blue Jackets have best blue line in hockey.

Boston's road significantly harder imo.

The Jets might have been down, but you can't tell me that offense isn't potent.
The Stars had one of the hottest goalies in the playoffs. Very solid forwards and very solid young defensemen in Lindell, Heiskanen etc. and much more offense beyond the Benn line. Dallas was a great team.
The Sharks have an all-star team and they didn't get beat up until the physical Blues got them there. Karlsson may not have been 100%, but he was good for most of the series. Jones may not be elite, but he made many elite, game-saving stops. The West is far superior to the East this season. If you think otherwise, you don't watch enough hockey.

The Canes do not have an elite goalie, nor do they have the offensive fire-power to win it all. They got hot and fizzled. The Leafs are good, but not good enough. The Bluejackets are young, fast and furious... Probably too young. Again, no knock on the East teams, Bruins included. Just stating the obvious. The West was better this
year and the Blues had the tougher road to the Finals. By no means does that mean
the Blues are a lock to win. However, the Bruins sweep and Bruins in 5 predictions are ridiculous.

Right...Stars legit cup contenders? LOL The Jets, like the Preds, were never getting out of the first round no matter who they played. Both teams were awful to end the season. Don't get me wrong, I thought the Blues were by far the best in the West going into the playoffs, but let's not exaggerate, shall we?

Once Washington and Tampa were out, the Bruins had a pretty easy path. But, they're good. Really good. I would've loved to see them play Tampa. But 2019 will be remembered as the year of first round miracles and poor matchups.

Have you ever really watched the Stars? They almost rode Bishop to the conference finals and beyond. It took the Blues game 7 double OT. They were legit. Zucharello was a great acquisition. They have some young horses on defense. I'm not sure why your so down on the Stars. The Jets were pre-season Cup contenders. They had flaws, but it seemed more mental to me. They got into a rut and couldn't get out. They have the talent, but couldn't channel it. I'm not even discussing the Sharks. There's no arguing their talent.

Having long layoffs is bad. It hurt Vegas terribly in the finals. Same with Columbus and Carolina this year.

Blues in 6! They are on a roll, and are easily the best team in the league in 2019.

We need a new team winning the Stanley Cup.

Go Blues Go!

Boston has their Super Bowl and their World Series this past season. I like the city but I really hate how spoiled their Sports Fans are.
