IMO: Perry’s is up there for the worst, then that of the Wild’s, and Montreal’s is much further down the list. Weber faces the hardest competition of all MTL defenders. He was on a 47 point pace which is obviously top pairing figures. Is judgement fair on his contract? Sure, but so far he’s been living up to it, imo
Carey Price.. he wasn’t good in 18 but neither was the team in front of him. If you look at his quality starts there’s a direct correlation with Shea Weber. Before Weber got hurt in 18 Price found his game in the 2nd quarter before falling apart. This past year he was solid when Weber returned. He had 23 quality starts in 34 games while still playing behind an average D corps. His sv% the last few years (league average was 910 this year): 918, 900, 923, 934, 933, 927 - WSCTeton17
Perry’s contract is terrible. Who would’ve thought he would fall this far from his better days. Him and Getzlaf were the face of the Ducks. |

The Parise/Suter contracts with the Wild look even worse to me - $7.5M until 2025. So much for a hometown discount . That is more than Letang and Kessel in terms of dollars and three more years then the Letang and Kessel contracts, which end in 2022. These contracts are really going to burn the Wild in the years leading up to their ends. Both players already look washed up. Suter is nowhere near as good as Letang (despite Letang being frustrating sometimes). - PghPens668771
And Parise was supposed to sign with us. Remember that feeling after we lost the Parise Watch to MinneFnsota? Thank god. |

Ruhwedel just signed 2 year deal 700k AAV - jso97
I don’t know what to think about the signing. I guess it was good since he’s a 7th D-man with good foot speed and can move the puck a bit. The term is good too. |

I let my Athletic subscription lapse because of Yohe’s complete lack of objectivity. |

Rino it’s Kessel/Jacko for Zucker/Rask.

Pens and Wild are in discussions...
"It is believed Jason Zucker, the speedy Wild forward who scored 76 goals the past three seasons, would be part of the deal. Minnesota made it clear to other franchises that Zucker, 27, is available.
The Penguins and Wild also discussed a couple of players with long-term contracts in Jack Johnson and Victor Rask."
"The deal has been on the table for days. It is believed the only holdup at this time is Kessel, who has the right to veto the trade." |

Honestly, I like Ruhwedel as a depth player. I was kind of pissed he didn't get more opportunity last year when absolutely none of the LD could handle switching sides. I think Sully pretty much butchered that. |

If the Pens had a high-end 3rd pairing RD then I’d be totally find with Ruh as the LD. |

I dunno... I’m so against moving Kessel, but if it’s inevitable then yes, if it gets Johnson out if here I would do it. |

Zucker is a solid player with good attributes, but he’s no Kessel. His speed is welcome though and JJ would be gone.
Pens would save a little space, which could definitely be useful in shoring up other pieces. |

I’ve always liked Zucker, brings a lot to the table but he obviously is no Phil. Rask really concerns me, he flat out stinks. |

From a basic standpoint he could can put up respectable points, but I know his analytics are rough.
That being said, it’s easier to limit someone like him as a forward and not hamper the top six from creating offense. |

If Option II is keep Phil and buy out JMFJ, I’d prefer to do that. |

Since I've accepted Phil was leaving a while ago, I'd do this deal. They can hide Rask easier than JJ.

While grossly overpaid, I don’t think he’d be a bad fourth line option. |

Well Mario played for a half decade without getting paid, seems like paying players to not play would be fair turn. |
