I used to drive a Yukon. I have since gotten myself out of the Yukon. Does that count? - Ogilthorpe2
Yukon Eric was a great wrestler. Killer Kowalski bit his ear off in a grudge match.
The Hawks could use both of those guys on defence. |

I'd settle for a Hjalmarsson clone |

If we’re cloning, might as well make 3 of them. One for each pair. |

Then give 'em all a Yukon as a signing bonus and Stan has all angles covered! |

Heading into the finals here's the current leaders of the Amazing Run bracket challenge.
Current Possible
1 AEL_Fox 146 246
- Darth Kane 146 296
2 Elbows 133 233
3 Ogi 123 273
4 35Tony0 118 218
5 Beav 101 101
6 ty cam 88 88 - Beaver-Warrior
Thanks for the update. Totally forgot about this. Darth will win by a country kilometer. I live in California now so I only played for the energy credits.
Good thing the current Jeopardy champion isn’t in our bracket. He already predicted accurately every series winner, in how many games, and final scores of each. |

It is a matter of him spending two years finishing out his development.

Jordan Schroeder also signed in the KHL after one season with the Hogs.
Besides Versteeg, predicting that the Hogs veterans will be L Johnson, T Sikura, Louis, and possibly Campbell. |

Do you think the Hawks have to factor when their draft pick will be ready in regards to the urgency of bolstering the lineup to take advantage of Kane and Toews still being strong contributers? |

I think at #3 you consider it, but the upside and how you help your team long term comes first.
But consider:
1) How many times have we wanted the team to add big skilled scorer especially one able to play the centre position and skate like gazelle?
2) Cozens has no history of injuries.
3) No worries of a signing elsewhere b/c he can't decide he wants to play 4 years for bum(frank) University and scoot.
4) There is a clear history of the Hawks taking Chicago area prospects only to bail on them early if there is any hint they have average upside, their representative's intent of negotiate higher dollars than the team is comfortable with after their early performance reviews, based on the intial rookie deal.
(sorry Tyler, could hold back any longer, lol) |

I like Cozens too, but you keep bringing up him being from the Yukon as a character thing. It does suck living there but his dad is a judge and his mother a lawyer I believe. So it's not like the Jordan Tootoo story where he came from nothing. - GPHawksfan
Your right he also has great blood lines. Both his parents are amazing people in their own right ,with terrific life stories . It not just it freezing cold and dark 1/2 the year in Whitehorse ,it isolated as hell . Takes a special person ,player ,to get noticed coming from there . I think this kid covers all the bases . |

I know what you mean, in 2015 there was no way the small non physical Hawk team could win against a hitting game that no human could withstand.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's size of the fight in the dog. Yes big players are a nice to have but give me players that can play through the rough stuff and their size is irrelevant. - paulr
Don't take things out of proportion. The Hawks have always had a few big, grinding players thay could compliment the skill guys....until recently. I am not saying you need a team full of 6 foot 4 225 lb giants. But, if you ALREADY have several small skilled guys in your Top 6, you are much better off getting some size to compliment them.
The softest team of our 3 recent cups was the 2015 version. Still, Hartman, Bickell and even Hossa provided some good size and grinding ability. We lack that now and I think after drafting 2 smallish D-men high the last couple of years, we need to add som skilled guys WITH SIZE to compliment the small skill guys we already have.
Now, I don't mind disagreement. But, I still think you need some bigger guys that can play some decent minutes to get through the wear and tear of a long playoff run.

AGREED. The type of player that has been missing from this team for quiet sometime. We all hope Saad would be that but he leaves a bit to be desired in the scoring department.
If the front office doesn't think Bryam is a sure fire #1 D-men then Cozens is the obvious choice.

Don't agree about the 2015 team. Left off Kruger, Vermette, Sharp, Versteeg he had an edge to him), Shaw, Saad, and Toews. All those guys played a 2-way or gritty game in the playoffs. Tough guys to play against come playoff time.

It would not bother me if they chose Zegras but I am hoping for Cozens.
Congratulations to the St Louis Blues on reaching the Stanley Cup Final. |

Well, there you go.Further supports my arguement that we need to consider size and grit when adding to our smallish skilled group we have now.
If 2015 had all those gritty guys....and the other 2 cup winners had big anfd grinding guys like Buff, Bolland, Brouwer, and many others.....that is what I am getting at. If we didn't already have Kane and D-cat I wouldn't mind a small skilled forward....but, we need to add some size. I really think we do. |

I have no issues with bigger players and I understand what you're getting at but successful teams draft the best available player, not the best available player who is big, or is a centerman, or is American, or plays in the WHL. The only concern I see is Russian players because they can be unpredictable. You can trade for size or specific need, you can draft in later rounds for size or specific need. If two guys are very close you can draft for need otherwise in the first round, and especially in the top 5 or 10, you draft the best player.

I 100% agree with we need to add a big skilled forward that plays a strong game. |

- Rota's Rooter
OMG I remember watching Moose Cholak. They used to announce him as being from Moosehead, Maine (I don't remember a Yukon reference). For a kid in Ontario we were totally fascinated by wrestling from Chicago - supposedly it was from Merrigold Arena in Chicago. Probably a fictious place but we believed it. |
