Thanks to all who have responded via PM and by email in terms of selecting for a team in the mock draft. Going through the responses and we still have openings for several teams. So, please let me know if interested in participating. - airjan23
it's amazing, they dont have a 2nd rounder until 2022 - jimbro83
I still cringe when I see people praising the Jackets for "going for it". They made a couple of no-brainer advantageous trades (a chimp would've traded Saad for Panarin and Johansen for Jones) and otherwise Jarmo didn't accomplish a whole lot before he forked over the team's foreseeable future assets to try and take a stab at winning in a 1 year window.

Sorry I didn't PM you my choice of Buffalo, I'll get around to actually following directions after I clear out some of the queue I have here at work.

I still woulda done it. They’ve been languishing in mediocrity forever there, they took a stab at it and didn’t work out. They did sweep TB for (frank)s sake

best thing is that Columbus is a division rival and they are pretty barren with draft picks right now
them and San Jose, traded a hell of a lot of picks lately

I understand SJ way more doing that. They had been close so many times, and no doubt this was probably the best last shot for that core. Yeah CBJ were never going to be as good as this year, but it wasn't like they were one of the favorites at the time. They traded the farm to hope for the 5% chance of lightning in a bottle. It was just a silly move on all accounts.

I do think it's very possible though that Duchene re-signs there
the Dzingel trade was awful, worse than Eric Staal was for us

If I was them, I'd be all in on Hayes and let Duchene walk. If they resign him, they'd have 2 picks this year (no 1st or 2nd) and no picks in the first 3 rounds next year. A resign would be a franchise killer. They could still be scrappy next year, but they will need to restock the cubbard quickly.

Keep Duchene, we gave them 20, 58 and Vesey for Anderson
