I'd dangle Andersson out there and see what happens. It may still early enough in his career that his draft spot might overshadow his performance to date and he's got the safety net of being a good checking center if it doesn't work out for him in the top-6.

Andersson, Skjei, 20 isn't a bad offer.

yeah

Chytil would be off the table for me, Andersson is certainly not off limits

I would be mildly upset to see Andersson go but you have to imagine there isn't a great spot for him with the Rangers right now. Plus Trouba would be a nice get. Giving up Skjei is not a huge deal with the depth on the left.

Yeah I figured Chytil not being available was just a given

I do somewhat disagree about Georgiev's trade value though. I'd like to see another year of strong play for him before I start believe he's for real. We've seen a lot of goaltenders come out and play great for a year or two and then fall off a cliff. Off the top of my head, Jake Allen is one.

Plus I think goaltender trade value is typically pretty low due to the unpredictable nature of goalies. Ben Bishop got traded a bunch of times for almost nothing and he's probably going to win the Vezina this year.

Theyd probably want Zib or something, and the rangers cannot do that

I'm lukewarm on acquiring Trouba

I wouldn't hate it

My preference on the blueline is more about getting rid of some guys and not as much bringing another one in

Georgiev can play though and his cap hit this year is gold, 792K

he could start for a team this year and basically cost absolutely nothing on the cap

They're not going to take back much salary, a major part of the reason they have to trade him is because they have to lock up Laine and Connor this summer. Those cap-strapped teams like WPG/TOR/SJS are going to want to deal mostly in futures, not guys on lucrative deals.

A little of both, I will be in Ocean City MD as well as somewhere in NJ during the span.
- JRR1285

Sorry I'm all late and wrong on this post. Pull pulling metrics for a couple hours fun,fun /s. I love Ocean City MD. Hopefully you pick up some nice thrasher fries and pick up a soft shell crab sandwich somewhere. Its the real OC IMO.

Yeah no doubt about that, he's certainly cheap. But I just don't see teams forking over a ton of assets based off one season. Maybe a pair of mid-round picks or something, which isn't a terrible haul, but I can't imagine anyone sending 1st rounders and/or top prospects. Maybe you could get a solid player on a kinda-expensive deal from a team looking to shed cap?

I just don't see a team like CGY giving up a lot when they're tight on cap space and can't afford to give him a big raise after next year.

I guess you're right about their goalies. I didn't know they have a comfortable back up situation. Just remember people saying Hellebuck (sp?) was a question mark heading into the playoffs.
If they don't want a winger and don't need a goalie or D, that restricts the proposals somewhat.

In theory yes, but I'm gonna go with no. This isn't like Marner or Point where the other team might roll with the idea they have several other young playmakers. Ehlers is a very nice piece, but in Winnipeg Laine is the man. No way they would ever not match.

No way should NYR add Hajek in package for Trouba....He looked pretty dam good for the handful of games he played before the injury.

There is a nice core being built on D. Hopefully JD can figure a way to unload Shatty and Smith. It will give younger guys a better shot at showing what they got.

My official stance: Offer sheets are 100% Certified Fair-Trade Fake News™

My not-annoying-answer stance: Probably not, but you never know. I am not saying I think there's any real chance it happens...but I wouldn't be totally shocked if you start hearing his name pop up in trade rumors. It's been thrown around before and I highly doubt it happens, but I think his attitude/effort (read: poor/lack of) rubs some people there the wrong way and they might be leery about giving him mega-money

I think the guys most vulnerable to offer sheets are going to be Labanc, Kapanen, Johnsson

I think we have 6 young guys for the blueline this year and hopefully next and we really dont need to acquire a big ticket defenseman

that's my overall opinion on it

Did you hear the first one where he literally just yells about not pitching to him anymore

Gleyber has 12 HR's this season and 10 of them are against Baltimore

I agree with you. More interested in whether or not it was possible.

It would be nice to see the "payment" for offer sheets tweaked to make them more palatable to the team giving them out.

I agree with you on G. Other teams have literally seen the same thing with Talbot with Allaire. If I was another team, I'd be a bit skeptical too.

I'm going to say something that will be quite a hot take in this blog: I don't think Chytil is 100% untouchable. He has the potential to be really good, but when you have Kravs coming over, Kakko/Hughes, etc, Chytil is our 3rd best youth forward. While he definitely could break out next year, it's not like he's lighting the world on fire. You could make a very sound argument that Buch put up better numbers in his first 100 games. Chytil is still very young and we shouldn't just give him away, but if he brings us a legit stud I'd pack his bags for him.
