I could see him doing quite well. He has the hockey grit of the time so nothing will deter him, but he's old enough where the other players might not see him as a huge threat and vote to kick him off early.

Could be Jack Hughes last game on the WC today. Let's hope the Devils take him especially if he ends up without a goal in 8 games against some of the world's best players...

No trolling aboutit . Would you say J. Hughes has played well on this stage? He has 1 assist in 8 games the USA team has played. Against kids his own age he was great. No age restriction in the NHL.

He's clearly not as NHL ready as Kakko but to base his draft position on this one event is asinine, just like it is ridiculous to say Kakko deserves the number 1 spot based on his performance. You could argue it blurs the line between them a little however.

Hughes is going number 1 but if he "falls" to number 2 I am not going to be upset.

The bigger ice should have helped Hughes. It didn't.

Ehh..Chytil has two assists too, and he has shown promise in first full NHL season. Kakko is also getting alot more ice time, since Fins don't have any NHL players on their roster. USA is playing the big names more than Hughes. Kind of unfair to criticize him now

the problem is we know you are smart enough to know that nobody is going to base the choice of taking a kid who should be in the league 15-20 years on how he has played in a meaningless tournament

you wanted to lose all year to get this kid, now you just want to troll, everyone sees it

Chytil should have been better here too. Very unsettling.

Very much disagree about that. It's so much easier to defend speed on bigger ice. Speed is deadly when d-men don't have time to just coast back and angle them off.
