I mean I wasn't a fan of them, but they were popular. This was one of their bigger hits.

At least I know that song.

Did you live underground?? It was a popular group in the 80s. Even if you hated pop music you still had to have heard of them

I probably know there songs, but the name doesn't ring a bell.

Just saw what JRR posted definitely not my music, so that explains it

I've heard the name. Are they like Depeche Mode? A girl I was close friends with, for her birthday I took her to a Depeche Mode concert in AC about 15 years ago. Didn't know a single song, I was so out of place with that crowd.

But you must have heard it? I know I unfortunately have.

Did you ever see Donnie Darko?

The songs you guys all posted I definitely know from back in the day. I never liked any of them so that explains why I didn't care who sung them

The 1st time I heard "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" was in Real Genius. One of Val Kilmer's first flicks. Classic 80's!

For the record I only knew of the Mad World song because of a movie. They weren't even the ones who did the song in the movie.

Being born in 81 meant that you were pretty confused about what music you wanted to listen to when you were a kid. Your choices of popular music was the 80s pop genre, metal (which being a kid i didn't appreciate until I got into high school, 10/10 i missed out when it was happening in real time), deciding if i liked the grunge/alternative movement as it started, or old school rap r&b. I'm not even going to dignify mentioning boy bands. Eventually I decided on alternative and appreciating the harder stuff as I got older. The 80s got mothballed like a POS Beretta.

I gotta say even though I am not a fan of theirs they really are a true 80's group. I love a lot of movies from the 80's.

Don't forget about the NES! The 80s were pretty solid for anything entertainment related.

I can appreciate that.
I was born in '73 and while I missed out on what has become "my" era of music by just a bit, I did get to witness the birth of many new genres.
...I just don't happen to like them very much!!!
Musically, I should have been born in about 1955 to have been at the age to truly appreciate my favourite bands first hand.

Never saw that one but a quick search says it was the movie Tony mentioned.

I'll have to check it out.

NES was great. I think we got one around 89-91. I was like maybe 5-6. Did you grab the NES classic? It is so cool modded with like 100+ games. I mostly finished Zelda recently.

Should've known you would pull out that one!

Loved when he pulls out the cylinder of dry ice to slice off a "quarter" for the coffee machine!

I loved that Zelda, A Link to the Past, was best
