The last two cup finalists were first round exits this year. Should I expect the Canes and Isles to make it to the second round next year as well ? Every year is a new year and if Cogliano doesn’t miss a wide open net we aren’t even talking about the Blues still even this season. I don’t expect the Blues to replicate the season they had this year, everything has gone right for them.

- Tampa, Toronto and Boston to continue much the same as this year. Boston gets a little older, Tampa gets a bit younger.
- decent improvements from Florida, Carolina and Flyers
- Washington rebounds
- Isles stay about the same
- Pittsburgh declines, Montreal takes a step back
- Rangers, Sabres improve
- Jersey, Detroit and Ottawa tred water

Jersey will be good in a couple years with young talent coming

Going to be tough for Buffalo push into that upper tier unless Botts is a miracle worker
