Your wording. I said if not traded he counts against the cap on opening day. Leaves 77.7m cap space for 23 players if i read the CBA LTIR correctly. Am i right or wrong or will you continue on about offseason 10% overage is allowed which has nothing to do with the real season? There is not enough cap left to sign all of Marner Kap & Johnsson til something gives. Do you not understand this crux point? To answer your question it has nothing to do with the price of weed in BC š¤Ŗš¬š¬
Eh if i am wrong iāve no problem if corrected on the CBA. Thx - Nighthawk
I already posted it in th nucks thread. Horton can be put on ltir in the summer, don't have to wait till last day of training camp.

2. I thought Toronto was vulnerable with Connor Brown, a really good player who wouldnāt cost four first-rounders, but the Maple Leafsā use of āSummer LTIRā gave them room. Admittedly, that wrinkle caught me by surprise, but after doing some digging, this is not a move Lou Lamoriello is unfamiliar with. In 2005, right out of that lockout and the new CBA, the Devils became the first team to use this option, when Patrik Elias came down with Hepatitis after spending that season in Russia. (I believe Philadelphia also used it. The Flyers were on LTIR for about a decade.) |

Nope. So you also claim LTIRās are freebies & have no cap consequences at seasons start? If yes then why does any team trade them & give a sweetener to do so? |

Then summarized it is Horton is a freebie all the time according to you. Cap space is also accrued during the season. There is zero impact on the cap being smaller than $83m.

Lou decided he didn't like the rule so he changed it.
LTIR can be applied in the off-season now. |

From CapFriendly
Can LTIR be used in the off-season?
Yes, LTIR can be used in the off-season while the 10% off-season cushion is active. LTIR in the off-season is calculated using the basic equation outlined above, which permits a team to exceed the off-season salary cap. To use off-season LTIR the team must provide doctors proof that the player in question will continue to be injured at the beginning of the regular season for 10 NHL games and 24 calendar days.
At the start of the season the teams LTIR relief & ACSL is recalculated when the 10% cushion is removed. |

I've posted the Friedman article 2x today for him, and yet still in denial.
But he has no problem if corrected by the cba.

The Leafs can have a 88.3m cap with Horton on LTIR bringing it to the 83m. If your claim is correct how does ACSL get calculated?

Horton will be on ltir before training camp starts, which is in contrast to what you specifically said that they must keep him in cap until game one. It has been proven false multiple times.
Friedman article says so, and a couple teams have done so in the past
Capgeek says so.
But they're all wrong cause you said so.

I understand that. To end all of this guess we will wait & see come Day 1 of next season. So far itās been 50/50 on which way it works. Like i said right or wrong iām cool but til then i maintain LTIR doesnāt come free & the claw back is the ACSL. |
