There have been at least 8 blatant head shots as debilitating and dangerous as those that got Kadri and MacAvoy suspensions and yet there is not a peep out of the league after the non calls. You have to question the integrity of the league starting with Bettman and the Department of Player Safety when you have 4 players injured with no response.
There should be no whining about the Eakin call because Vegas failed to do what 7,998 teams had done before them in a similar situation and killed the penalty without giving up 4 goals. They had their chances in OT as well. They received breaks from the officials in Game 2 and others. Colorado got breaks that had direct impact on outcomes as well.
The officiating AND the League's lack of response has been a travesty and a disgrace. Think Toronto fans would like to have seen the same treatment of Kadri that the Blues have received and what impact that susension has had on who's the East Champion?

There have been hits on the edge for both teams. Barbashev tried to bail out on the Hertl hit (if you can even call it a hit), but Hertl had his head down and put himself in a bad position. If Barbashev wanted to he could have really laid into him. The game moves faster than the replays. The Petro on Pavelski hit was pretty weak honestly the linesmen did more damage than Petro did. Pavelski is playing with fire being on the ice after the Knights game.... |

Yeah.... time to take off the teal colored glasses. Sharks have had just as many questionable hits as St. Louis has. Most of what you are whining about is clean and going both ways, like Pietrangelo's hit on Pavelski followed by Dillon's hit on Pietrangelo. Or Dillon's shot to Sundqvist's head and Barbarshev catching Hertl's; both should have been a penalty, neither has been a suspension all year, and pretty obvious difference from those and the McAvoy or Kadri hits.
Officials have handed Shark's so many games/series that they seem to be unable to recognize fairly called games anymore. |

How did that more exciting brand of hockey work out for the almighty's this season say compared to the teams still playing. - opeth_pa
I was going to say the very same as your Flygirls but holy (frank) no, we finished WAY ahead of you in a season where you were suppose to take that next step and we were suppose to be in contention for the lottery

Is anyone still even watching these horrendously boring NHL playoffs????

Yesterday's game was the first in the history of NHL playoffs to have a penalty shot goal, a hat trick, and a shutout in the same game. It was super boring

Perhaps you should take off the blue colored glasses & stop with the "League has handed the Sharks games" crapola...
Your head is so far up the conspiracy theorists' @sses for the opposing team that perhaps you can't recognize when the team you root for gets few breaks...The headshots not called yesterday on St Louis were definite penalties...& effectively took Pavelski & Hertl out of the game, so it all worked out in the end for the blues, didn't it? If you think Barbarshev let up on Hertl, you're high. |

Hey TT, Don't both with this bozo, It is a waste of time. Those hits were penalties but the Refs in ALL The Playoffs have been a joke. And the head of Player Safety is none other then a headhunter goon himself in George Parros. Hopefully Hertl, Pavelski can play Tuesday. |

How old is Phil now? As much as I'd like to see PK moved, not sure having only Phil in return is a good trade for us. Not sure it is even with other stuff... |

Nearly everyone but sharks fans view the sharks as being handed game 7 round 1 (and thus the series) by the officials, and being handed game 3 this series by the officials. That's not a Blues perspective or a conspiracy theory, it's a pretty widely held view.
Barbarshev should have gotten a penalty for catching Hertl's head. So should Dillon for his headshot on Sundqvist. The fact they called neither is poor officiating, but fair.
Pietrangelo's hit on Pavelski isn't a penalty. It never has been. Pavelski's head isn't the primary point of contact. Pavelski's head changed position right as Pietrangelo checked him. Pretty much everything in the rule says that's not supposed to be called a penalty. Which is why, when Dillon threw the exact same check against Pietrangelo, is wasn't a penalty then either. Sometimes players heads get caught in the follow through of a check. That's not a penalty, that's hockey. If you disagree, what part of the rule exactly do you think Pietrangelo broke? |

Well...almost everyone (including the NHL) agrees that it shouldn't have been a major.
But, Vegas tied it up and sent it to OT and could've won despite that. No, pretty much everyone I know believes the Sharks benefited from that major, but Vegas blew that game, and series. 3-1 series lead...A shorty in OT...4 power play goals in 4 minutes? You'd think someone in the arene could've performed the Heimlich...
