Look, I’m not into discussing if I would trade one first round pick for a legit top 6 forward (who’s what, 23?) I would. But that’s not a realistic option, so it doesn’t make sense. You’re trying to use the Chewbacca defense on me and it isn’t working.

Lol, I can’t even figure out how to get to messages on the mobile version. We’ve done two features over here on the Island, have another coming up this winter. Still have a few bottles of ‘11 Franc and Merlot and 13 Merlot in my cellar. We have a bit of Legacy left at the restaurant too. Had one a month back, just starting to come around.

Any of our reds from the 2015 vintage are killer. They are going to be unreal in 5+ years. 2018 was also a strong vintage, despite losing a month of sun to smoke

Beagle doesn't hurt us at this point in time.
JT at 11m hurts the Leafs cap & yes he is a star but changes nada. Kadri is a pretty good well paid bottom 6.

- Nighthawk

Kadri is really a second line C and would be on a vast majority of teams.

They actually replaced Gardinmer already. Muzzin has the same cap hit.

Same cap hit, different skill set.

2C yes but not a great one.
27m in 3C’s is unheard of.

Nobody said overpaid. Cap problems are the issue.

I wonder how he'd fit with EP?

None as good as Bergeron

A team cannot pay that & lose in the 1st round & need D with no money to spend on it.

He’s a good player. Steady. But Reilly can’t be the only D moving the puck forward.

I’m all about duos on lines. D is a necessity & puck moving & scoring tops the list. We have more holes to fill but it’s coming along.

How could MG rebuild when he screwed us with all his NMC’s & NTC’s. That is as silly as it gets.

You do realize Gillis is more gifted at talking than Benning right? I mean the guy convinced the Rangers Bobby Holik was worth $11 million/year.

That's hard to say. Gillis only picked top 10 twice, Hodgson and Horvat. He also did trade a bunch of picks as we were contending.

I mean in 6 seasons we missed the playoffs once, and were considered a serious contender nearly every year. Pretty much the opposite of what's happened since.

It's not that I'm a huge Gillis fan, it's more about after how many seasons of being a lottery team can we stop blaming the predecessor?

They lost to a team that’s in the Finals. Leafs had more wins against the Bruins than the Jackets and Canes did combined...

Gillis was a tool. JB's added some nice pieces but he's on the clock now as well.

Just a guess, if not the draft during the summer.
