I'd say LA with the 5th and 22nd pick have a great chance of landing Byram and McMichael - that would be a Canucks wet dream draft. It would be killer if we had a second mid 20s pick. If we could squeeze out TBs 27th pick in some sorta Callahan salary dump package deal that would be our only hope - draft a Dman at 10 and hope McM is still there at 27! WISHFUL THINKING

Sakic has come out and said they would like to be aggressive. They hold 16 and 47 or Sens 63. If Van could pick up McMichael at 16 and get two D in the 2nd round with 32 and 47 or 63 in the 3rd.

If Van could pick up 2 D like players picked in the 2nd round of last seasons draft. McIsaac, Woo, Wilde, Fehervary, Durzi all look like they could project to be good 2nd pairing defenders.

I think come draft day, someone will jump up and grab him before 20th. Sort of the same as Dallas getting Ty Dellandrea and CLB picking up Liam Foudy a few spots ahead of 20.

Newhook landed himself as my 9th rank player behind McMichael.

I see a very different style of game between Newhook and McMichael. For me it's basically comparing

Newhook (Ehlers) vs McMichael (Schwartz) Both are comparable 60 point players.

Schwartz is more physical and I find plays through the lanes instead of someone like Ehlers who plays around the perimeters more often.

Binnington has been solid but I don’t think he stole any games as I’ve been following them these playoffs. If DiPietro who is similar in size could pan out the same I’d be ok with it
