We have a lot of cap space but that doesn’t excuse the total waste of contract money that’s the fault of Benning. Think of all the assets the team could get for taking on contracts or squeezing cap teams for good players.
Tampa has Johnson, JT Miller, Vegas has Reilly Smith, Toronto has Marleau, etc. etc. All guys we could absorb and still sign a UFA and pay Boeser if Eriksson, Sutter, Beagle and company weren’t signed.
I used to have interest in Karlsson but after watching him in this playoffs he is truly one dimensional. He is a huge liability in his own zone and with the defensive awareness of a flea. In fact if we magnified his brain 50000 times and shot it up a fleas ass it would rattle around like a BB in a box car.

The leafs can't even get Ottawa out of their heads, let alone the bruins. It's going to take years and years of concentrated counselling and one hell of a big ballista to kill that dragon.

Even if people aren't F1 fans the movie "Rush" was fantastic documenting the battle between Lauda and James Hunt in the 70's. The guy playing Lauda was fantastic. Recommended in his honor.

That was JB's first draft right. If JB was allowed to pick the player who he was rumoured to have wanted instead of Virtanen which was Larkin (slightly confirmed). Having already drafted a center who would have Van taken with the 24th pick instead? Pastrnak? Larkin and Pastrnak in that first draft would have been (frank)en sweet. Maybe Goldobin Nowhere near as sweet as Larkin and Pastrnak.
