Sandin has been amazing. What he's doing at 18 is certainly overshadowing lilegren somewhat, but it don't think that means that lilegren isn't progressing.

They just started using him against tougher completion and he's responded very well.

May not see either of them on the Leafs roster for another 2 years then unless cap troubles force them into action. Could use one to clear some cap space.

They're both here in 2 years gauranteed, most likely see them at some point this year even

Edit: by "here" i mean in the nhl. I doubt they trade both, but you never know. They are both cheap cap hits for a couple years and that is what they need right now.

They are both cheap hits which makes most sense but playing them in the NHL before they are ready may stall development. My guess it Hainsey and other cheap more experienced are brought in to fill the gap till they are ready.

So do the Leafs.

It entirely depends on the amount of cap space the Leafs have on day one of the regular season. Not in week three of May, June, July or August. It’s not an issue for them right now.

- Pacificgem

You honestly think the Leafs, who now employ the person who wrote the rules on the NHL salary cap won't put themselves in position to have that 5.3 million?

You’re so dumb it’s painful, Hortons cap doesn’t affect the Leafs, the same as every cap hit the Coyotes took on to acquire picks.

Lucic and Eriksson are examples of bad salaries that cannot be buried. Permanent LTIR salaries are not a cap issue.

- Pacificgem

Horton's 5.3 million COUNTED against the Leafs' cap this season. It won't next season.

sure whatever, get creative and get a couple more assets
- VanHockeyGuy

Some people go out and spend 500 dollars on lotto tickets and most of the time it is the poor immigrant couple that work at Mcdonalds that buy one ticket that win.

Every now and then you get a really bright bunch that out math the odds and win but that is rare.

If a scouting team knows what they are doing then 7 picks is plenty.

You are right, Vancouver is going to trade down spots instead to get a RHD where he belongs to be taken and picking up another asset in the process

Their last two have been Calder contenders and Hughes might be also. That is decent I would say.

Hanifin the younger Gardiner (Maybe with a slight bit more knowledge of defending).

I might only hate Hanifin because Neem was trying to tell me he's a 1st pairing defender. (he's not)
