I hope all those guys on Tampa Bay refuse to waive their NTC's

maybe they will stop giving them out like candy

the Bolts are ridiculous with those, they even gave one to Yanni Gourde

I’ll take gourde

you have to at least mention the fact that he has a full no trade clause when writing these blogs

if Johnson accepted this trade, he'd be accepting a paycut by willingly going from Florida to Jersey

not likely

Do you NJD fans have any interest in swinging for the fences in free agency? What if Kakko is selected 1st and you’re able to land Duchene? And what about Palmieri+ for Subban? I know it’s unlikely but it seems like Shero could turn things around in a hurry buying low (lower than usual) on Subban. How often are guys like that available? He’s already commit to bringing someone in to show Hall the team is committed. I see reasons both ways on Panarin, Duchene, and Subban

I would love to add another elite player, however I realize it is unlikely to happen. If we trade we need to be careful we aren't creating a hole to cover another. Palmieri is our only natural right wing that can play top minutes, so it would be really tough to trade him.

You know what this team needs? A second line center...

No wait, it's getting Jack Hughes. Sticking centers on wing will give you different results than when they were playing center. There's a huge difference between reading a play and chasing the puck around, and just covering a defenseman, waiting for breakout plays.

It's certainly easier to play wing then center. We could have several centers doing that like Coleman, Zacha, and possibly Boqvist. How do you see this impacting the game?

I would think it's a plus as most centers tend to have higher hockey IQs; but not sure how they do playing out of position so to speak. Coleman seems fine with it.

Tampa should avoid Karlsson like herpes.

He's past his prime, he will be overpriced, and he is injury prone.

PASS.

Agreed, hell of a player, but you'd be signing him until he is at least 35 and he's going to demand Doughty money and a full NMC. With the achilles injury and basically rebuilding his entire heal, I think you're probably paying 12 mil or so a year for 7 years to get 2-3 years of and elite D-man.

Exactly. A few seasons ago, I would say go after him hard. Now, not so much.

It's "easier" to play wing, yes, but you don't have as much of an impact on the ice. Your hockey IQ isn't much use if you're not allowed to play out of position. Centers use that hockey IQ to decide where to go, to go where the heat is. Wings basically need to be able to read a pass and take one, but they're the lowest impact players on the ice.
