James tanner I am so sick of hearing you push Toronto on everyone if Jake Muzzin was a number one defence man, Toronto would be still playing but Dubas thinks only having forwards is the way to win. That's why Boston beats them every time. Try Dubas for worst GM and James tanner for worst journalist

Cordell - Picks Waddell over Armstrong because: "I don't love Doug Armstrong's case because he entered the season with extreme question marks in goal".

Waddell began the season with Scott Darling as their starter!!!

I guess to be an expert one only has to make logically inconsistent arguments.

Tanner picks Steve Yzerman (not a GM) and Torontos GM that had a player hold out and is getting bent over the table by his young forwards.

How is he getting bent over the table by his young players? Nylander's $7m cap hit is what his worth is. Matthews is getting what he is worth. THey didn't take small discounts like Rielly and Kadri but those are still good contracts. Not great but not bad. They are fair value.

You could point to some contracts as comparables(but pastrnak and kucherov don't really apply) Contracts that were signed years ago when the cap was lower, or other contracts that were signed yeras ago immediately before a breakout season aren't equal comparables. Use current contracts in the current marketplace.

Last summer when we got Tavares and Dubas said we'd keep the core he wasn't lying and we will keep the core. At the time people probably expected 65-75 points out of Marner and an $8m salary but he will earn $11m instead. Marner is one of the best players in the league and is absolutely worth it. I have no issue with any of these contracts.

We're in tough this season with salary cap but once Marleau's 6.25m is gone we'll be fine.

Waddell traded a forward who finished the season tied with Roman Polak and Brooks Orpik in points (9) for a guy who finished tied with Jamie Benn and Jonathan Drouin in points (53).

How about a GM that made moves to get his team to a Cup final rather than a first round elimination 😂

8 goals in 61 games season/playoff combined. Worth every penny.

The Matthews contract is also not even mildly team friendly and walks him into UFA. Tavares signing was more about pajamas than it was about Dubas so giving him credit is comical. Marner not being taken care of before the season will burn them in the long run.

Jerk him all you'd like but there's a lot of questionable moves he's made and Tavares was just good fortune not being a good GM
