Let's get political!

Good start. But I don't get the hate specifically. I think he's a poor leader of the most powerful nation in the world but I don't hate him. I think he's done a great job at exposing the ugly underside of American culture and current attitudes.
The world needed to see what was behind the curtain of pompous superiority. |

Trump may he a goof in real life but that does not make him a poor President.
Love him or hate him he has accomplished more in less than three years than Obama did in 8. The numbers don't lie.
Plus I love that Jackass Anderson Cooper when flipping by the channels every night.
CNN just won't let it go lol. Trump exposed their fake news programs and guess what Cooper and CNN...you lost.
Deal with it. |

The trade war is just a distraction he wanted to create. Have the media focusing on that. With the market dipping because of his little "war" he will go in and buy stock at a much cheaper price. No Trump IS a Richard. And no I am not a Clinton fan. In fact I never cared about US politics until the POtuS got into power. He is a dangerous man. If he was a (frank)ing decent human being then my hate for the man would not be as strong. I was appalled when he mocked the reporter with a disability. The guy is a racist POS.

alberta is a poop hole that shows that both sides of the political spectrum are fcuked.
the conservatives sucked at the tit of high oil prices while their drunk asses (literally for their premier) spent away any surplus they should have saved with idiotic spending policies.
then they elect a shrew who inherited a mess but couldn't budget her way out of a bank overdraft.
now they have randy, the assistant park manager, from the trailer park boys scarfing down cheeseburgers while trying to sound like a tough guy.
perfect for a sh!thole trailer park province.
how's that for you bloats? |

This is my problem... I don't like blanket associations. As the thread title suggests, it's false dichotomy.
There is a divide and conquer mentality in the US and they go too far when they practice it on themselves (left vs right). The world needs their consumption. If they are too busy fighting amongst themselves they ain't buying. If they ain't buying the whole house of cards comes down.
And then we are in a world of pain. We all need the American political cow to keep grazing. Sure, swat at a few flies but otherwise keep your (frank)ing head down and feed. The rest of us will replenish the trough. |

He's a duly elected official. He represents the attitudes of too many Americans to be dismissed as a con artist who tricked his way into the white house. Some would love that narrative but it just ain't true.
He's sinister because he's a chosen president. Otherwise Trump is just another known American personality. |

One of my biggest shockers was when the oil industry tanked and within hours the Alberta government and the workforce immediately had their hand out. I was like "where all that personal wealth generated from low taxes and high wages?"
Everyone was spending as fast as they were making. Complete fiscal irresponsibility to rely on a volatile commodity market like oil and gas.
Now in fairness to Albertans, a vast number of workers are not from the province. Most are from out east, Atlantic provinces. I'm from there, they ain't good with money. The fact that these workers came to Alberta to reap the benefits and then abandoned the province as soon as the going got tough is inexcusable as well.
Boo to everyone involved in that mess. Feds included.

Oh man, this thread is being born just at the right time. Summer is coming. Hockey fans grow increasingly irritable with noting to talk about. boredom sets in. Destructive behaviour ensues.

The Albertans have horded onto Vancouver Island with what's left of their oil patch money and all their atv's, snowmobiles and loud generators at most camp sites now. Huge RV's with satellite dishes and open living rooms that hydraulically extend from the obscene RV. It used to be nice and peaceful over here, hopefully they all move back once Alberta separates. |

Harper was a vile piece of sh*t. Scheer is such a moronic bible thumper.
Trudeau (an idiot) was given a chance and f*cked up beyond belief. He can't even sell weed!!
Looks like I'm voting Green from now on, they are the least offensive of the 4 major parties. Quite frankly, I would be happy with minority gov'ts going forward. Forces them to work together and compromise to form consensus. |

Good points here. Many left when the cash cow was gone never to return. Bailed lol
But a lot of us stayed to try to make things better and contribute to local businesses and economies. This hits home for me as I could have been one of those who bailed.
I had multiple job offers in manufacturing when the Americans closed our Fire Truck Plant down. Could have stayed in the cash cow zone but chose to stay and become a municipal employee of the city and contribute that way. Going from $120,000 per year was tough down to $60,000...but I made it work.
Sometimes...we just don't need all that sh!t that we buy.
