This property makes me so envious of the east coast. That place looks like the most fun summer property. I could just envision so many good memories being made in a place like that!

We just sold our house and are looking to live in a place called North Saanich/Dean Park. We have 2.5 months to find a place before we lose possession of the house we are in so we have a showing at this place on Monday. Pricing is just ridiculous on the west coast

Man it might be 3 times the price but it's also 3 times the dwelling and property. Easy enough to put a nicer house on the lot I listed but it's still tiny in comparison.

Fair enough, my house for 175K is an absolute steal in comparison but I still deal with these really poopty winters and higher pricing for food, energy and taxes.

They both have their positives but I think you get pretty good bang for your $ on the island.

There is a piece of me that wants a little cottage on the lake, secluded from everyone and everything. 20-30 minutes away from the closest grocery store. The island and west coast has changed so much over the last 30 years, sort of sad tbh. I would love to go after the property you listed.

Then you should have seen the one I visited today. I just stopped in to buy garlic but while I was waiting for him to come down I started poking around a little. A couple of small orchards, many great little gardens and several buildings along a moderate sized home all on an ocean front property. No Idea how many acres but several at the least.

When he came out one of the first things I said was let me know if this ever becomes available.

Haha thats awesome. Funny story, my grandpa has a "Frankenstein" truck that he put together with a bunch of different parts from different trucks and what not, and a young girl from the local university stopped by when he was outside and complimented him on it. She was "all eyeballs and bumholes" over it he said lol. She told him that if he ever decided to sell it, to give her a call. He wasn't planning on it, but he told his family that if he wanted it to go to anyone, it was someone who appreciated it as much as he did. She is now the owner of it

So who knows! Maybe it will be yours one day!

So here's some Monday morning sunshine for you boys:

Researchers in Hong Kong on Monday reported what appears to be the first confirmed case of Covid-19 reinfection, a 33-year-old man who was first infected by SARS-CoV-2 in late March and then, four and a half months later, seemingly contracted the virus again while traveling in Europe.

The case raises questions about the durability of immune protection from the coronavirus. But it was also met with caution by other scientists, who questioned the extent to which the case pointed to broader concerns about reinfection.

It's like they're not even trying to win any more.

JFC.

With the Liberals showing the time is ripe for change, the conservs say, "Nah, we're good, you guys stay there."

Conservative

My riding is traditionally NDP with conservatives somewhere behind them, voting anything but NDP, could lead to a CRAP member getting in. I won't risk that.

*rant upcoming*

So, I was interested in learning more about Ms. Kutner and went to her website https://amitakuttner.ca/. I learn that she's an astrophysicist so that's intriguing. I'm open to hearing more from her until (I'm serious/not serious; joking/not joking) I get to her endorsements. One of the first endorsements listed (and thus would seem important to her) is from Vancouver Councilor Pete Fry.

For those out of the area or haven't really heard from him, Fry is an absolute fcuking idiot. That guy has never met a camera he didn't like and he spews complete and utter bullsh!t.

I'm sorry for not saying anything of substance as to why I dislike the man but I don't want to go on for pages. Suffice it to say that he is the absolute stereotype when it comes to politicians who use "activism" to advance their own political careers.

He's the guy who will go on the news every day and tell you what the problems are (it doesn't matter the issue, he just wants to get his name in front of people.) He'll identify the problem, point blame and then mention that the problem should be fixed. No real concrete solutions but just general pablum. "Homelessness is a huge issue. Everyone deserves a home. The levels of government must work together to find solutions." Okay, that's really helpful and noone has ever said that Pete.

Anyway, I bring this up as "keep an eye on this guy." Morons like this (even though he's really not very polished) do well because they spew the BS that people want to hear. He parrots back what they are already saying. He'll be running for mayor soon (5-10 years) and maneuvering for higher office. He's too dumb to make it even a little subtle.

He's just the new generation of slimy politicians. Whereas the traditional guys would use business BS buzzwords to make it seem they knew wtf they were talking about re: economy; the new breed use activism and progressive talking points/agenda to advance their own political ambitions.

Same sh!t. Different pile.

TLDR; Fcuk Pete Fry

Years ago Pete Fry and I had the same dealer. I was at my dealers place in the west end picking up my stash. Like all dealers you had to sit there and talk for what seemed like hours but all you really wanted to do is get your poop and leave ASAP. Anyway, in walks Pete. My dealer introduces us and mentions that Pete is Hedy’s son.

My reply “Really!? I always thought Hedy Fry was a transvestite?”

True story.

He's Hedy Fry's son? Jesus, why did I not know this or put it together? Probably because he doesn't come across as having an "advantageous" background. Where is Neem to talk about privilege?

Anyway, I may not have always agreed with Hedy Fry but she at least seemed to have intelligence.

It did not pass on to her offspring.
