Are the fires in Europe his fault too?

The question you really have to ask yourself is, "Aren't the fires in Europe his fault too?"

No really. Great Whites are prevalent along the eastern seaboard, from Florida to Newfoundland. Huge concentrations off New York and New England coastline.

I've been watching this site for years...

https://exhibit.ocearch.org/tracker/

They have tagged a bunch of great whites and you can see where they "ping" as they breach the surface on the linked tracker app. Nova Scotia is the summer retreat for east coast great white populations. Kind of cool.

But sharks washing up on shore, or attacking swimmers near the shore in NY (Amity Island) is (was) very rare no?

Yes and no. Traditionally there were lots of great whites off of NY coast but over fishing and culling of seals really depleted the numbers. But now that conservation efforts have been in place for years now, these large predators have made a incredible comeback.

So in our lifetime, yes, sighting were way down but now there is a bit more balance they have returned to their natural numbers (or at least climbing to their natural numbers).

You’re talking about numbers of sharks, and I’m talking about human/shark interaction. There seems to be an increase in the latter lately.

Also true, but there's probably a number of reasons why this is happening. More people in the water with more sharks. Typical shark feeding habits are changing with ocean temperatures changing. Great white migration routes have always followed the continental shelf. Now a days it seems they are closer to shore. Etc, etc.

I don't think sharks are targeting people specifically. Just a result of environmental and population changes.

Yup, but it's in old Chilliwack. Probably a domestic dispute type of situation. From what I understand, one person taken to hospital and one in custody. No police were hurt during the incident.

New Chilliwack, old Chilliwack, who knew there was so much divide there. I think Redmile is out that way, but you two are more likely to get in a ‘flip the bird’ fight.

The artificial border highway 1 creates separating new from old is rather fascinating.

I do a lot of work at Chilliwack hospital (in old Chilliwack) and it’s in the most crappy part of town. Cross the highway and a totally different sort of people.

Heard something funny (scary) on a podcast today. Topic was eugenics, how Hitler actually based some of his policy/ideology on laws that were enacted in California. But that’s not the funny part.

The terms idiot and moron used to be legal medical terms, and were used to put people away, sterilize them, or discount their word in cases such as rape (basically if a woman accused a man of rape he could just say she was a retard and get away with it). Still not the funny part.

So Morons we’re considered the worst people in society because they were smart enough to fit in / avoid being noticed, but the most dangerous for their propensity to breed and degrade society. A bit of that going on now…

Holy poopballs that’s cool, but what will all you rednecks do without your trucks? Just kidding, I love trucks.

Reminds of the movie Elysium.

Well originally, I think the eugenics movement wanted to eradicate the lower classes all together, but then who would pick up their garbage, or cut their hair?

End up with a bunch of high society stinky hippies.

A city like that would make a Great Wall between Canada and the US.
