So trade from a weakness to decrease a possible strength? Should be targeting top 6 wingers so we can spread CMD-Drai-Nuge across 3 lines and not have to compact them to accomplish any scoring. Eakin is a downgrade from Nuge at potential 3C.

Just to address this.
We have perhaps the best scoring duo in the NHL in Connor and Leon so is it more beneficial for us to keep them together producing enough to carry a bubble team alone while assembling a 2nd and 3rd line that can also score at rates befitting those titles or for us to try our luck piecing together three completely new pairs to drive three separate lines?
Essentially, which is more easily attained?
Connor/Drai @ 3.25 g/60
Nuge line @ 2 g/60
3rd line @ 1.75 g/60
Or
Connor line @ 2.6 g/60
Draisaitl line @ 2.3 g/60
Nuge line @ 2.1 g/60
*numbers are mostly imaginary
I'm inclined to lean towards the former. We've already found a linemate that brings out the best in Connor; why be in such a hurry to break that up despite having evidence that shows Connor doesn't produce like this with everybody?
I'm onboard to try to get to a point where Connor and Leon can produce great numbers on separate lines, but I don't know that the way to doing that is to forsake something that's working. I think it should be to boost our other lines up to the point where they're not such an anchor dragging the team down.
