I do like Connolly for the 3rd or 4th line

Caufield is Skinner 2.0. I think he’ll be a great hockey player but two way play wins in the playoffs. I think Boldy would be perfect on Jacks wing, size and two way ability. I think anyone could skate on Jacks wing and pop 20+ goals in a season but not many prospects have exhibited the play in all 3 zones that Boldy has. If the draft fell the way MHP mentioned then I’d hope we take Boldy or Krebs.

Caufield has elite talent but his size is what will hurt him the NHL. If he was 5'10" or bigger, he would be top 3 easy.

I think it will be Boldy or Krebs for us but I tend to think Botts will go with the American.

Ralph Krueger would be such a genius hire. I would applaud everyone involved. Let him coach this year to really get a feel for the roster. Then let him go upstairs, replace Botts and be responsible to hire the next coach. I wouldn’t give a damn if they sucked this coming year if that were the case. That dude looks shrewd. Confident. I’d have faith in him.

Could Kruger be a two year option and move up when Grönborg's contract is up? Just because Botts didn't interview him for the HC job doesn't mean he didn't talk to him. He signed the new contract pretty quickly. May have been a result of the hypothetical conversation.

Keefe is a good option, but I could see him waiting one more year to see if Babcock gets canned if the Leafs fall early again next season.

Still don't know why Marc Crawford's name never comes up. Ottawa had him as interim coach and have not offered him the fulltime gig yet.

Perhaps they are waiting on someone still in the playoffs. Maybe someone like Joe Sacco in Boston.

Johnny Hockey has gotten owned 2 straight playoffs in a row though. Debrincant remains to be seen, and Marchand is 5’10 and tough as nails. I don’t see Caufield intimidating anyone and throwing his body around at the next level.
