Geno BEHIND Barkov? lol ok
- Rinosaur

He had a better season that Malkin last year and was healthy all 82 games and is only 23.

Barkov had 96 points, didn’t miss a game, logs 22 minutes a game, etc etc. Sure he’s going to start more in the D zone but he would absolutely be the number 1. No reason to think he can’t replicate what he did last year or even improve upon it under coach Q with what should be a better roster

Malkin would go to Florida and continue to turn the puck over, continue to take bad penalties, continue to lose face offs in the mid 40’s range, continue his lackluster performance in the D zone, and would get 18 minutes under Q while being spoon fed PP time and O zone starts. Oh and he might get hurt and miss 10-25 games a year. What evidence do we have that he wouldn’t play this way in Florida?

Right now would’ve the perfect time to give Marchand a no recovery brain injury.

Not at all, just making sure that you're saying you like to laugh at the misfortune and invasion of privacy of others that you wouldn't like to have happen to you.

It's a (frank)ing lick. No one's getting hurt. Lighten up.

I think at this point, Barkov is definitely better than Geno. I think Barkov is around a top 5 C. Right up there with Sid, McDavid, MacKinnon, Bergeron, Matthews. I think Barkovs two way game is stronger and he can put up the points on top of it. They’re close though for sure.

Malkin is one season departed from a 98 points with 42 goals. He had an "off" season. Barkov is definitely an awesome player, a top player, but he's not Geno.

That was also his only close to full season since 2011-12'. Even the locker year he only played 31 of 48 games.

Thats a lot of cap to pay someone who isn't that healthy all the time and at his age you can assume that trend would continue.

If FLA offered Barkov straight up for Malkin would you take it? Last year Barkov put up better numbers, 9 years younger and almost 1/2 the price.

Off course anyone would trade a young Barkov for Geno but it’s 100% unlikely. Anyway Geno deserves more respect. He was better than Sid in some cup runs. He was our motor and Point producer. That said I wouldn’t trade him. He should retire a Penguin.

It’s like no one on here wants to trade Malkin, but the only thing anyone talks about is trading Malkin. Personally I would rather trade Phil for a new winger that’s going to be attached to Malkin. Who doesn’t need “his own line”.

Who would have thought 10 years ago that Crosby and Kessel would play on the same team and almost never see the ice together. Seems like a waste now.

Just attach Phil to Malkin again and you have no reason to trade Phil.

It’s not going to happen. I’d attach Phil to Crosby for at least 30 games for once.
