that's some awful buyout, 1.9 mil cap hit every year until 2027 - jimbro83
I would take that if I were Calgary it would save them 3.8 million a year. |

Hornqvist is playing with Pettersson in the worlds, he is already the type of player Benning loves, Benning will salivate at the opportunity to acquire Hornqvist.
I would look to dump Johnsson on them with Hornqvist. Probably need to take back Eriksson who has been terrible but we could probably get Virtanen who I think is a Dupuis type player with more size, speed and a better shot. And Erikssons contract is up after this season im pretty sure.
Horny + JJ for Eriksson + Virtanen
Then deal our 1st to Calgary for James Neal or Send them Rust and a pick if they'll do that. Let Malkin and Neal do their thing and let Eriksson play the defensive stalwart on that line.
Do we have the cap to do this? I dunno. But check these lines!
Guentzel Crosby Virtanen
Neal Malkin Eriksson
McCann Bjucksktad Kessel
Simon Blugrars Rust

Hornquist to Vancouver would be interesting. Never thought of that as a fit but they do love their Sweedes!
I'm not really into trading Hornquist but getting rid of JJ, taking a shot Erikson rebounding and a solid young forward would be worth it.
You completely lost me on the Neal thing though. It would look more like Rust for Neal and Calgary giving up a 1st. Also don't think the Pens would have any interest in bringing Neal back. |

Bruins D interferes constantly. Every dump in. It’s blatant too - Thorny87
That seems to be happening more and more as the playoffs progress... maybe a subject of discussion during the off-season. Sure seems like interference to me. |

I think Neal gets bought out. Also I get the Neal love, but he is not the solution to the undisciplined, low energy game that the Pens played this season. - 123Kid
I don't think he gets bought out and agree with your assessment but if he does, I could see a one year deal with the Pens to build his stock back up. |

I am 50-50 on trading the first pick. I think Penguins should keep all our star players, but revamp the Defense and try to sign some players to upgrade this group. I am hoping the rumors of Penguins trying to trade for Trouba and Subban are true. I think having another defensive talent will help. With that being said I hope they get rid of JJ and Gudbranson to free up cap space (Maatta or Schultz would probably be traded as well if Subban and/or Trouba were coming to Pens). A good defenseman like Trouba I would package our 1st round pick for. |

Absolutely. Trouba is worth giving up the pick.

I like the idea of Hörnqvist/J.Johnson being packed together for Eriksson/Virtanen but I doubt it they give up on Virtanen so early. |

Until they get a bad call against...
Everything in me wants to hate the Bruins but I love Bergeron and Chara.
For me its Blues > Bruins > Canes > Sharks. - MacPatty
How can you like the F'n Bruins? I want to see San Jose or St.Louis champions this year. They have ZERO cups. |

Why would the kings do this for malkin?
Kings aren’t going anywhere for a couple years. - KINGS67
Because I was totally serious about trading Malkin to move up 1 spot in the draft. |

Im not sure how you keep your star players while adding Subban and Trouba. Both of which are $7+in cap. There are no players on ELCs' to fill the gaps. |

Well, he did say they would have to get rid of JJ and Gudbranson and trade one of Maatta or Schultz, so there's $11M-$12M freed up. I also think he meant adding one, not both, most likely Trouba if you're not trading a big name. |

Zero percent chance that Wayne Simmonds gets anywhere near that salary/length.
Same for Jordan Weal. |

If he did it for fun, then it would be cruelty... but if he was hoping for a prince out of the deal, then it would be kindness. |

Its troubling to me too. I hate the Bruins, especially Marchand with all of his BS but Bergeron and Chara are two of my all time faves.
St Louis would be great. Oreilly, Pietrangelo, Tarasenko, Schenn, Parayko, Bouwmeester... wish they all played for the Pens. |

Dzingel and Panik would be big targets of mine with those hits if they were able to clear out the roster spots.
EDIT:
Looking over these projection, while I'm clearly not great at this stuff, quite a few of them seem very questionable. |
