Meh, I don't see that being a major issue - you're paying for a guy to play in your top 2/4 and getting a negotiation window advantage as well as a term advantage on his future deal. Could see a potential conditional trade from the Flames, get a 2nd and 3rd, and make the 2nd conditional on re-signing - becomes a 1st if he's signed
