So when AV is fired at some point will Therien or Yeo become the interim?

Still hoping the people that complained about AV and are complaining about MT and Yeo can list who the obvious better choices that the Flyers should have hired are.

Personally after Quenneville went off the board, I thought AV was the next best choice. It wasn't even close.

I'm not even bothered by MT and Yeo......

But this Lappy thing is just baffling.

Agreed. The guy has been given every chance and has returned middling results at best. I'm not sure who else is out there right now but I believe it's a big mistake to head into another season with him running the PK.

This has to be the most head coaching experience behind a bench for any NHL team ever

And somehow Lappy is still here

How can lappy still be here? He took over a top pk unit and ran it to the bottom of the league. You could argue that his terrible pk unit is what got Hexy and Hak fired.

I believe his continued employment with the Flyers is enough legal proof to charge him with blackmail.

I can’t think of anyone I would less like to coach the flyers pk.

Anyone questioning the Flyers bringing back Laperierre are just members of "Team Negative" Complaining for the sake of being a whiny female dog.

The Flyers have professional hockey executives running the team, not Monday morning QB's who post on a website. They clearly know better.

Good for Lappy. I’ll never fault a guy who is able to stick around amidst tumultuous circumstances despite a questionable track record.

Management, however, should and will be dragged for this.

This is all water under the bridge. Who really cares that much about the coaches at this point, much less the assistant coaches?

Wake me up when this roster is held accountable for doing the same poop every year. Sure, they’re really good at talking and identifying what’s wrong, but can’t or won’t do a damn thing about it.

Fletcher changing the forward mix is the single most important part of this offseason. The individual parts of this roster is worth way more than the whole and that needs to change.

Do you think they hired Therrien and Yeo to not be behind the bench. It's pretty safe to say that with an entire new coaching staff, that a lot of going to change. Coaching is results oriented so there is ample justification to fire Lappariere but there is also the realization that the Flyers PK issues were not coaching related.

Lol.

Would you say they decided to swing that pendulum the other way and focus on experience?

- flyer_nutter

I would, yes. I think Fletcher wanted to go that way for sure. And Vigneault, as I noted in today's blog, has always had at least one former NHL HC on his staff of assistants (Dave King in MTL, Rick Bowness in VAN, Scott Arniel and later Lindy Ruff with NYR and now Therrien and Yeo in Philly) because his style is to manage by consensus.

There is no one right or wrong way to assemble a staff. I'm neither excited nor disappointed by the coaching staff that's in place. I'll wait and see how they come together, which is going to be judged by wins and losses. The real key to this offseason, however, is player personnel moves.

That's funny because show me one user that agrees with Lappy being back.

As to your second point..I would take actual people that run a team for a living vs fans on a website 100% of the time when it comes to hockey decisions. =)

Would you say this may be the biggest off season since Richards/Carter trades?

The organization’s track record of success especially the past 5 years cannot be questioned. We have so many assists to show for it.
