I was leaning towards that, but went with the general.

If we sign Panarin and trade for Trouba I would say we could make a serious run as soon as next year.
Panarin Zib Kravtsov
Kreider Chytil Buch
Kakko Howden Strome
Smith Boo Lemeuix
Hajek Trouba
Staal ADA
Lindgren Fox
Skjei as part of a deal for Trouba - nyrangers9479
Not enough down the middle. Would love to see Howden as 4th liner or in Hartford, and sign a veteran to be 2nd/3rd line center. Strome fots the bill in that spot. He played well for us.
D situation nis no where close to where it needs to be to expect a playoff run next season. Probably have to let Staal and Shatty contract play out before any big time moves on D
Who knows , maybe Gorton does his magic and sheds Shatty or Smith contracts somehow |

Strome is ideally the number 3 center imo, it’s hard to expect him to put up the same numbers as this year.
I’ve been thinking about getting a center from somewhere but I’m afraid to post a trade I had in mind you know, this board will make you turn around with your tail between your legs
But (frank) em:
RNH for Kreider, Lias or Howden and pick 18-19. Maybe you have to throw in a D
Not the biggest Nuge fan, but he’s kinda the perfect fit right now. Would be a solid number 2 center for them. |

Haha. Yes they do
Think could be had for less, seems a bit pricey. Not bad though
Edit: just saw his stats....your proposal is probably what it would take. Throw in Smith..lol! Wouldn't be willing to lose any young Dmen...
NYR-Kreider, lias, Pionk, and later round pick?

Welcome to the Nuge hype train. I don’t think he’d be a star or anything, but away from that cf of an organization, I’d think he’d do quite well for us.

Don't see how Andersson fits in with this team. Him and Nieves seem like same player, but Nieves is better skater.
Current centers. Zib, Chytil, Howden, Nieves, strome, Andersson.......who goes? |

The problem is Edmonton doesn’t have a GM lol
I think Kreiders value takes a hit with only one yr left too.

I also don't see Kreider resigning with them either. He's an East Coast guy |

Edmonton needs cap space. They’d probably want a Lias or Howden along with a D prospect. They don’t want Krider in all likelihood |

Very true.
I was listening to Spittin Chiclets (awesome podcast!) a few days ago and Perron said it was a terrible place to play when losing, which seems to be the case lately. |

They basically just hired Ken Holland

The paperwork still has to get done. Provided all of that is managed today, expect the Oilers to introduce Holland as the new GM in the next few days. Holland will have autonomy and Nicholson could take on a bigger role as well.

Holland and Nicholson had a friendly discussion a couple of weeks ago, but more about Holland’s job change in Det. The veteran GM still wants to be a GM and needed time to think things through. |

I mean, yes and no. Ken Holland has been kind bad lately. Look at the roster in Detroit after they won the cup in 08.
He held on to Zetterberg and Datsyuk tooo long. Brought in Green and Vanek that took job away from younger guys. Didn't move Jimmy Howard. He hasn't been good for like 5 years. |
