Couple of minor signings the past few days. The Hogs have resigned Nick Moutrey (F) and signed Mathew Thompson (F) and Chase Marchand (G). Moutrey and Thompson are nothing more than minor league depth. Marchand was one of 3-4 goalie invitees to prospects camp last summer.

The Marchand signing is intriguing because the Hogs net is getting crowded with him, Delia, Forsberg, Lankinen, and Tompkins. Guessing that Marchand shares the net in Indy with Tompkins, then Rockford has 2 of Delia, Forsberg, and Lankinen with Delia either on the Hawks roster or Forsberg no longer in the organization.

This also leaves no room for Gravel but he's only 19. A 4th year in Halifax then go pro in 2020-21. No need to rush him.

This makes sense to me AEL.

Don't be surprised if Forsberg is brought back on a deal with a higher AHL salary. You can never have too much goaltending depth.

It is a 2-way street though and I can see Forsberg wanting to part ways with Chicago though to get a better shot at a backup role with a team.

I could see Forsberg splitting the scene, his treatment at the beginning of last season was absurd .He is or was are best goalie prospect . I don't have a lot faith in Delia

Explanation : Q told him he sucked and didn't provide any tissues for him to wipe away the tears. All he got was an economy ticket on Greyhound to Rockford. Cruel treatment.

Looks like Holland will be the next GM in Edmonton. I’m sure he’ll want to make some changes, hopefully Stan can take advantage of that situation in some capacity.

He had a better camp then Ward then was stapled to the bench well Ward played on with a .856 SV.% .Not even given a chance to play during a back to back . It was Q being Q and not allowing a Stan add to have any chance to succeed .

Meh, it could be argued that Crawford outplayed Niemi in camp before the 09-10 season and was rewarded with a ticket to RFD.

Deal with it. If you’re good enough, you’ll get your shot eventually.

Crow did not have to go through wavers ,so it made sense to keep Niemi .at the time .
Oh yes Forsberg will get his chance .It a shame HAWKS may lose a decent goalie prospect over one mans Ego

C'mon now ... everyone serves a purpose, be it as a bad example or in Cherry's case making bad lounge acts look good.

Can he not see the irony of someone who dresses like he does saying that others look like a bunch of jerks?

I thought Rene Rancourt was a bad lounge act looking good.

I miss him in this tournament....

Don't you have a plane to catch? How can you sit there and call a guy a jerk who, in the last 20 years, hasn't been able to coherently complete a sentence or if he does changes his opinion in the same sentence?

FWIW...

Eklund has an “E3” on the Hawks being interested in Cody Ceci.

And the trade could go down soon while the playoffs are still going.

Ceci is signed on for one more year at $4.3M then an RFA next summer.

EK is usually the kiss of death .I have heard Ceci name before with the HAWKS . Blocks shots hits could be a nice target .Perlini and a 4th .

He's an OK two way defenseman who isn't physical but is decent defensively and as you say blocks shots. Trouble is he's making $4.3M and I've heard during games and read he's looking for a big payday and that's why Ottawa is looking to move him. $4.3M maybe you make a case for him but he's not worth more than that. I hope the Hawks steer clear.

Well I personally am willing to give Don Cherry a break.

If and when I get to be his age, I too will have earned the right to not give a crap about what other people think about my expressed thoughts, political correctness, and all that stuff.
