They're winning, up 3-0 in their series. Nothing is broken, fix it. Makes perfect sense. |

I believe their penalty kill finished in the top 10 during the regular season. I wouldn't mess with it. Ovechkin and Co. can make any teams PK look bad especially one that has a group of first time in playoff performers. They settled down towards the end of the Washington series and although two PP goals in 3 games against the Isles is not a good start I'm not overly concerned and have more confidence in Pesce defensively than Hamilton.
The powerplay is another story. I have actually liked the second unit on the powerplay better than the first unit. Neither PP unit plays and skates with the same urgency as they do 5 vs 5. The 2nd unit in the playoffs has shown more urgency and effort than the 1st unit. Brindamour needs to drill it into them that it is a PP and not a 2 minute break. |

I do agree they need some changes, like taking Faulk off PP1 and putting Hamilton on there. They need some scheme changes too.
I cant justify putting Hamilton on the PK over Pesce. Pesce is much better defensively. Ovi ate Hamilton for dinner 4 times.
Nino is a solid 2 way forward but Staal is definitely a better defender.
Where did the metrics come from? |

They could always deploy Detroit's special team scheme. Worked for them |

Brindy said it was up to Ferland. Seeing where we are in series, I keep sitting Ferland and Mrazek until game 6, if necessary. Give them more rest. We dont need another 1 period show from Ferland if we can avoid it. |

I tend to agree. Checkers call ups haven't been a defensive liability. They haven't contributed a bit of offense though which Ferland when he is healthy can sometimes bring to the table. |

Truth. Much as I love the effort Patrick Brown has been putting out, the gap in offensive ability between he and Ferland is very large.
If Ferland is good to go, he's another big boost to our lineup. |

What do you think the possibilities are for Poturalski to make the team next season out of camp. He has definitely found success in Charlotte but we've had too much experience with the Boychuk's and Dalpe's of this world to hope that the success will translate to the NHL. |
