I believe Beaudin wears #92 for Drummondville. In last fall's training camp, he wore #74. The #18 was just the draft year so all picks from a year ago wore a jersey with that number. - AEL_Fox
Ah, 2018 draft. Thanks. |

I haven't seen anything official but I saw a tweet from Nicolas Beaudin's father reading "After 4 years in the Q...It’s time for professionnel step at 20...All the best to come and so proud of you" ... sounds like Beaudin signing is immanent. - EbonyRaptor
Beaudin already signed his ELC. He signed last November. |

Just walked by David Kampf jogging around the track with what appeared to be a trainer by my apartment.
Granted he was wearing a hoodie, but I think the 195 lb. listed weight is a little generous |

That is great to hear. Halifax eliminated Drummondville to advance to the QMJHL finals so Beaudin's season is done. Hope he decides to play pro next season. That would project the Ice Hog blueline as (just an example of pairings):
Gilbert - Carlsson
Beaudin - Tuulola
Hillman - Krys
This doesn't count Dahlstrom, Forsling, and/or Koekkoek. Even if you count these 3, all 9 D-men are LH shots.
Besides Beaudin, the one other prospect who I hope joins Rockford next season is Soderlund so he can start getting experience on North American ice. He needs to sign an ELC first. - AEL_Fox
This... all of this makes sense.
I will also add that Beaudin coming to Rockford adds to the complexity of how the "4 horsemen" all end up in the NHL. Looks like the way it's shaping up:
Jokiharju - NHL this season
Beaudin - turns pro, plays a year in Rockford, possibly ready for 2020-21 season
Boqvist - another season in London, NHL in 2020-21
Mitchell - turns pro at the end of this season, Rockford 2020-21 -> NHL 2021-22
So conceivably all 4 of them are NHL ready for the 2021-22 season. At that time, you still have Keith, Seabrook and Murphy under contract.
I know, I know... the chances of all of them being there isn't likely however, who's ready to add another top tier defender in Byram?
It's a valid question when you look at the above.

Nothing says you can’t trade one (or more) of them for more immediate help.

Definitely. I suspect that's what's going to happen.
The tricky part will be deciding which one(s) to move. |

Carolina is just the story of the playoffs this year it seems. Just incredible in what they're doing. Don Cherry must be cringing now he's looking like a fool. Bingo is probably loving this.. |

With Shechnikov back they have a little more fire power. This is now a dangerous team, as if they weren't already.

I bet it will be a combination of:
1) where they are in development
2) perceived "value" of the GM who's trading for them
3) on-ice chemistry with the Blackhawks - are they 1/2 of a good pairing, or just a good defenseman
4) a "Coalition guy" |

That sounds about right as far as a potential rollout of the Big 4 to the NHL.
This also doesn’t count possible matriculation of any of Carlsson, Krys, Gilbert, Hillman, and/or Tuulola.
Even if any of the Big 4 or other D prospects need more time on the farm, this is where having Dahlstrom, Forsling, and/or Koekkoek could help as long as they’re on favorable contracts, i.e. short term and affordable AAV.
Gustafsson is a pivotal figure because of what he brings offensively, especially the PP, which may be tough to replace if the high-end prospects don’t pan out. I have faith at least 2 of the Big 4 will play top 4 roles which makes me more confident to trade Gustafsson for other assets like another 1st rounder and/or top shelf prospect. Or at the TDL. |
