Rielly would still be number one, his numbers speak for themselves. I'm sure Provorov is great, and I'd love it if he were a Leaf, but 7 goals and 26 pts in 82 games doesnt scream he's ready yet, even if he was a defensive stud. I'm sure he will be soon, but for now the Flyers would be selling low on him, which would be bad. - 13sundin13
Blah blah blah
I am being more forthright dude cmon. Last year Provy had 17 goals and was a beast basically being used the same as he was this year. This year was a bad year if you base it on his previous two years.
I watch the flyers heavily. Take the underlying numbers analytics etc out.
Provy had a tough year. The question is what is the real picture. His first two years or this past season.
Provy had a much better second half. The flyers were a train wreck all year.
If you don’t think he is a number one dman then maybe you should invest in some streaming services and actually watch some flyers games.

Now to the deal... any time a deal has both sets of Flyer and leaf fans screaming no way....it’s probably fair....lol.
I will say this....Provorov is better then Adam Larson and the oilers had to give up Taylor Hall to get him .... D are expensive....franchise types anyways. Now I’m not saying the Flyers are lucky enough to deal with Peter Chirelli, but if the leafs want that type of d man then that’s the type of pain they are looking at. For the Flyers....at this point there probably isn’t a lot of untouchables on their roster...(for good reason)...
I actually see where Ek is coming from although Konecny being included seems a bit of an over payment....not huge...but a bit. |

Rielly is still way better. Good season, bad season, cherry pick his best season, average his last 3 out however you want to slice it Rielly is way better. |

Fair trade but Flyers wouldnt do this not unless there is someone to take on the #1 Dman role in Philly. Right now making a deal like this just creates a hole we recently just filled. |

No it doesnt. Who's Phillys #1 D? Any deal involving Provorov leaves Flyers without a #1 quality Dman. Flyers needs are much smaller than you realize. They just need a #2 C and speedy wingers for the 3rd line.
Provorov Giroux and Hart are untouchable. |

I guess with your rumors the Flyers will somehow fleece the NJ Devils out of the 1st pick in the draft & end up with J.Hughes..
Marnier will end up in Vegas, per Gary Bettman |

Not straight up. Toronto would have to add something more to even this out, IMO. Provorov did not have a good year, but he has SO much potential. Konecny is a solid 2nd line forward. |

I'd do this. I'm not sure if it works for the Leafs. Ghost and 11th overall isn't a low-ball offer. They would probably push back for Sanhiem and 11 which would be really hard to pull the trigger on. |

I love me some TK but he's just not in the same conversation as Marner.
For poops and giggles I offer Ghost and TK for Marner and Kadri. If that's not good enough so be it. As far as D men go they aren't getting Provorov or Sanhiem. Flyers can't afford to move them.
Now I bet we'd take Marleau off your hands to help your cap situation but it's going to cost you Kapanen. - hereticpride

As a Leafs fan.. Heeeeeeeeellllllllll NO! Lmfao
Both Philly players are good but if TOR made this deal they would be trading away a super star for good players.
And there’s no chance anyone offer sheets anyone this summer. Look at the FA class. Maybe the best in over a decade. You don’t need to trade away 4 first round picks to get some offense this summer. Not to mention that there are a ton of big name RFA’s out there, not just the Leafs. But great work at creating some chatter Ek’s lol. |

Offer sheets are rare but I wouldn't go around throwing terms like "no chance" out there. If the Leafs don't make some quick moves they'll find themselves in a prime position to have to match an offer sheet which I'm sure they won't be thrilled about.
Imo best thing for them to do is be proactive and clear some space and get Marner signed asap. That is the only way there will be no chance of an offer sheet. |

Are you insane? I could see a package including TK but why on God’s green earth would the flyers trade a number one dman at best and a two dman at worst.
If I was the leafs I would do this in a heartbeat.
Can anyone say Luke Schenn for JVR! - bird_dog_pa
exactly...luke schenn (provorov) for JVR(Marner)...Leafs get hosed in that deal just like philly did all those years ago. |

Lol! Morgan Reilly is not way better than Ivan Provorov. He had a better year and is maybe better right now. He just had a career year and Provorov just had his worst year. That aside, no one with any sense would argue that Reilly, after 3 seasons, was better than Provorov is right now. Reilly was put right on the PP almost from day 1 and wasn’t given a hard workload for a couple of seasons. After 20 NHL games Provorov was the Flyers #1 D Playing over 20 min per game. Last year - his 2nd in the NHL - 15 of Provorov’s 17 goals were scored at 5v5 and he got very little PP time. By almost any measure, Provorov is ahead of Reilly at a similar point in his career. The idea that he’s “way better” is at best, debatable. |

Cool to ponder, though. |

I'm not saying they would but for the right price anyone can be traded. The fact he has a good cap hit only adds to his value and the Philly connection is obvious. My guess is Johnny will go back east in 3 years as a UFA. |

Agreed. I'm not sure this is the right price. It's REALLY close because Provorov is a stud, but I'm not sure that offsets the value lost in Johnny.
I'm with you 100% about Johnny probably heading back East once his contract expires. I don't think he dislikes playing in Calgary or anything like that but he's so close to his family and the Philly area, I can't see him sticking around for the entirety of his career. Depending on where the Flames are at in their development, he'll probably be traded somewhere out there before his contract expires. They'd be silly to let him walk or let his trade value diminish too much a la Jarome. |
