For a 27 yr old that averages around 45 points and looks to be a third liner? Yeah. Imo let someone else pay him

Whatever the effective solution to Sobotka being in the middle-6 is what I want

Only one problem...

He’s a New York islanders

Yes but he didn’t just hang off of Tavares jock like Moulson and Okposo did. I dislike Hayes for the same reasons why I didn’t think ROR would work past age 30.

Bring me more ideas.

I am happy to shoot them all down.

Interesting tidbit I came across about Gronborg on another Sabres board.

Dave Hakstol volunteered as an assistant coach this spring for Team Sweden, mostly to learn more about Gronborg's leadership and coaching abilities. And they are long time friends. He would bring valuable NHL HC experience to Gronborg.

This comes from a poster who lives in Sweden and gets good information over there.

Another interesting thing is Botterill named Hakstol as an assistant for Team Canada.

Gotta think Gronbeard is the #1 candidate.

I wouldn't mind Gronborg with Hakstol and Steve Smith behind the bench. Hire another assistant for up in the PB.

Any projected lineup with Jeff Skinner in it is just fantasy at this point.

If he was going to sign with the Sabres he would have done it already.

He'll find greener pa$ture$ elsewhere, and a more clear path to the playoffs.

I just hope Botterill doesn't react to Skinner's departure by overpaying for a substandard replacement on July 1.

We don't need any more bad contracts weighing us down.

I think he’s waiting for the one week tamper free period to see what the market will bring and use that at leverage.

If I was his agent I would do the same thing. He gets to take his visits and the Sabres can still offer 8 years up until 12 A.M July 1st so why not.

Right, his leverage keeps growing. Would have signed by now is foolish reasoning.

I expected 15/15 out of him this past season. He was just shy of that. I was still disappointed. He needs to carry the puck more. He is too eager to pass. He needs to slow the game down and read the play a little better.

I expect 20/20 out of him this season.

He will finish with 18/17 unless he takes that next step

No one said he’d get 15/15

Wonder if people here will say he set back the rebuild. Trading for a player to finish 6th last instead of last and burning a high 2nd rd pick and a prospect in the meantime.

Along with trading a really good 2nd line center (although a little pricey) for scraps and cap dumps on us.

Cozens is playing RW on Krebs' wing for Canada. Krebs has been out in all situations including PK. Newhook is the LW on that line as well.

Don't agree with either point. They shouldn't have been that bad last year.

RoR deal included a 1st and a 2nd and directly/indirectly lead to Skinner and Montour. Calling it scraps is disingenuous.

By freeing a significant long term salary commitment and adding draft picks. Not saying it's direct, but they don't trade for Skinner if they don't move RoR. JB's said as much, though I'm sure some here will disagree.

Déjà vu not one wide receiver

.......

I really thought they target one wide receiver after going for both Odell Beckham Jr.and Antonio Brown

Maybe they have a trade in the works

They didn’t go for Beckham. Their wide receiver core is going to be ok. Brown, Jones, Foster, Beasley and Williams will be better then last year. They will be ok.
