TJ Brodie cannot play without Gio. He is not getting a high 2nd let alone a 1st. If majority of Flames fans want him gone why would anyone give up a premium for him? Do you pay a prime for your neighbors trash? - wreckage
Brodie on the block is more to do with the emergence of Andersson, Valimaki, Kylington and the Flames needing the cap to sign Tkachuck and Bennett. I think a high 2nd is reasonable for decent 2nd pairing guy at a reasonable salary. |

Only a 2nd is an insult. Like him or not, Brodie has a proven ability to play top pairing minutes. Whether you believe he is only that good because of Gio or not. A team may see him as a good fit beside their own other top pairing player. Otherwise keep him, we'll get more at the deadline for him. |

Just because your sh!t team gifts top 4 defensemen, top 6 forwards, and Vezina calibre goaltenders for peanuts does not mean the rest of the league has to. |

BT will make a few tweaks I'm sure, but next years team is going to be better even if BT doesn't make a single move.
Johnny Money Lindholm
Tkachuk Backlund Bennett
Dube Janko Czarnik
Mangiapane Ryan Neal/Hathaway
Dark Horse: Phillips
Gio Rass
Hanifin Hamonic
Kylington Valimaki
Out: Frolik, Brodie, Smith
???
Rittich - Saskabush
What about Gawdin as a dark horse? I don't know if he's as quick as Phillips but they both put up the same amount of points in their rookie pro seasons. Since the Flames signed Gawdin, I've been rooting for the kid. |

Because Chiapets apparently linked to St. Louis. |

This is just plain stupidity and ignorance. Like any player Brodie can make mistakes especially when they play a ton of minutes in all situations. But overall his ability to transition the puck has helped the Flames score one of the highest amounts of goals of all 31 teams. Trading him makes sense for CGY because Ras Andersson has shown an ability to play top pair with Gio and Brodie only has a year left on his contract and we likely won’t be able to afford him on a new contract.
Consider yourself educated, clown. |

If Larsson can get you hall
Strome can get you Eberle
Reinhart can get you barzal +
Brodie should be able to get at least a 2nd lol |

What a stupid comment. Brodie would be in your top pairing. 2nd round pick, what a fcking idiot you are. Go back to your own blog & figure out how you can fit other teams players onto the cap ceiling team you guys have. |

I'd love for the Flames to somehow acquire Phil Kessel. It'd be hard to fit his contract in with Tkachuk looking for a mega-raise, but if they somehow did it I'd be soooooo happy. |

What what you think a realistic deal would be for Kessel ? |

You know, I'm not even sure that the Flames have the assets to give. They're short on good young forward prospects, their defensive prospects are pretty much graduating to the NHL...salary is an issue too.
Maybe Brodie + Dube + a pick for them to retain some salary on Kessel? I don't know what the Pens needs are, either.
If Tre feels this team is a speedy, scoring winger away and wants to sacrifice a good prospect then that probably gets them at least close. I may be way off-base, which is why I'm not a GM of any kind |

I think Kessel will cost one of our young D
Maybe dube, a first, and a roster player but Kessels last few seasons have been good so Pitt would probably ask for a lot more
Also even if your trade somehow happened we have no cap room to sign Tkachuk then .... |

They'd definitely have to retain some salary in order for it to happen. I think they're gonna get rid of Frolik and Stone as well. I don't foresee any problems getting Tkachuk signed at his raise. |

Did you post this on FN as well (I know someone from this site posted about this but can't remember who it was)? If you did, I replied and said that I'd love for him to be on the team.
Kessel has been one of my favorite players for a long time and I've been seeing his name a lot on this site, that's why I mentioned him. |

While Anderson might be a tough get given his importance to that team, I wonder (and have wondered aloud in the past) if Crouse might become available out of 'Zona. Would prefer Anderson for a litany of reasons, but Crouse has shown some ability to play up and down their lineup a la Ferland, and would likely be considerably cheaper. |

Yes I did. Nobody seems to share my enthusiasm for this guys potential on our team if we were to acquire him. |

There were rumours prior to this year or last (can’t quite remember) that he requested a trade. Maybe it still stands and he’ll refuse to resign with CLB. Maybe we could find a way to nab him if that’s true and still stands. |
