Huh. Babcock put Matthews over the boards more than any other forwards at even strength in games 6+7. Matthews just took considerably shorter shifts than he had earlier in the series.

That IS great. We will see if it's a one off. But I've been saying it for awhile. Teams who have 13% of cap in players are hard pressed to do well in the playoffs. Cant surround them enough with good players.

I like the Goat.... I thought he got better after the trade deadline... and was more than okay in the series against the Bruins. At his price point, he's valuable - and he could contribute more the PK - IF (BIG IF) Babcock would give him that job to lose out of training camp.

Dubas does have to take away Babcock's toys to some degree - BUT in so doing he also has to be a bit more balanced in what he gives him... the Leafs do NOT need another 5'9" 170lb guy who can turn quickly.
