they're both one dimensional wingers which haven't lived up to promise.
as said, I don't even like Drouin.
funny how they both have attitude issues and not a lot to show for on the ice when it matters. - MaximusAurelius

Wow, did the leafs and babs ever blow it. - Fakepartofme
the reaction i) fire Babcock ii) blame Freddie is so OVER the top...
and the leading cheerleaders are the same doinks we are subjected in the media
does Babcock deserve some criticism - sure?
does Dubas get of scott free - no he shouldn't?
Nylander didn't cost them the series, but he sure didn't help much?
Kadri didn't help either
but the blame/accountability isn't on one person.
that said - I think the most IMPACTFUL thing for the team going forward is that Dubas doesn't bury his head in the sand and focus only on Marner's contract, he's got to get multiple things done in concert...
i) sign Marner as soon as possible (don't have to announce it)
ii) decide on what you want to do with Nylander - keep or move
iii) decide which Marlies are going to get a REAL shot come training camp?
none of the rest are priorities - and depend to one degree or another on 1, 2 or 3
if he waffles on either of 1 or 2 - he's phucked.

B's are in for a shock if CBJ plays them the way they played Tampa. CBJ is a big team that plays a much heavier game than the Leafs. - Aetherial

Number one thing for Dubas is too address the defense. We do need to replace Gardiner and potentially Hainsey. Either via trade, free-agency or internally with the growth and development of Liljegren/Sandin.
Then work on finding a way out from under Marleau's contract..
I can't see how or why Babs would get fired just yet..

I couldn't wait that long. The risk of spoilers is too high. And this is a movie I absolutely do not want spoiled for me.

William Nylander says he has some regrets about his contract standoff, and how it impacted his play: "I just wish I would have been here from the beginning."

Points, Corsi, PDO, Looks.. Nylander is beating Drouin.. So, I guess that means Drouin's the better player.
Max, your hate is strong today.. - PatC80
c'mon Pat.. .your missing the main point here...
he's a Hab.. therefore better.
The Habs missing the playoffs is better than making the playoffs and losing in the first round.... heck they might have won the lottery and drafted the next Galchenyuk!

While I agree for the most part, I think that fact that he didnt get the specialty coaches to change their tactics is a big deal.
I think the special teams coaches need to be fired. You can have that much talent and have that poor a PP, and our PK strategy was worse then most beer league teams. |
