Leafs should be talking to Nashville ASAP.
They need scoring and have a plethora of defensive depth.
Nylander to Nashville for some defense.
That's gotta be the starting point this offseason. - JohnFergusonJr
I pointed that out earlier. We're going to move Ellis and/or PK I'd bet. We need scorers. We also have a Turris that we don't need. |

Not sure why everyone wants to get rid of him. Obviously he made some selfish bone headed plays. But getting tossed clearly illustrated that our perceived depth isn’t what we thought and I believe we need him.
Nylander isn’t going anywhere simply because you don’t sell at an all time low on assets. And he didn’t work as 3c. As much as I hate him he needs to play on Matthews wing.
To those saying he was handcuffed by crappy players. Who scored 24 goals in combined 164 games (0.146 goals per game avg). Your boy Willy scores 7 goals in 54 games (0.13 goals per game avg) - dragus84
Meh....My 'boy Willy', also didn't get suspended in 2 consecutive playoff years.. How has Kadri not learned anything yet? Additionally, it's fair to say that Nylander needs to play with players that are better than Brown and Marleau.
Not knocking Nylander, but IMO, next year is where we will see his value.. This year was a write off for him.. I fully expect him to get 60-70 points next year playing with Matthews. |

Trading Kadri is not a good move. Yes, he lost control 2 playoffs in a row and severely hampered the depth of the team with that selfishness. However, that's a fixable problem. Kadri has a good contract and as a 3rd line center can move up the line up in case of injury to Matthews or Tavares. He's a heart and soul guy who cares and the reason the Leafs have the deepest center position in the league. Just needs to mature a bit. He fits his role on this team really well. There are other pieces on this team that don't and should be replaced before Kadri. - floater_willy
Can't trade Kadri. The cap hit considering the production is too good.
Leafs need cheap talent.
Kadri will just have to learn from his mistakes. Other players, like Marchand, have learned their lesson. Kadri will have to as well. |

Right. Kadri is "stupid". Okay. I guess you're perfect and have never made the same mistake twice or never learned from your mistakes. |

Bean is a LHD who plays the left side doesn't he? Fluery and Mckoewn need waivers next year? - manvanfan
Yep
They'll just go Slavin, de Haan, Bean down the left and Hamilton, Faulk, Pesce on the right.
Keep Fleury with the big club in case of injury and for expansion draft purposes. |

Hard to say the Leafs don't get better by acquiring either Subban or Ellis for Nylander. |

He's fallen off a cliff. Our entire 2nd line was on the side of a milk carton since February. You know it's bad when our best player was Rocco Grimaldi. |

Your boy may have cross wrong. I just meant that nylander himself didn’t do anything more spectacular than Marleau or brown. Both of who have history of scoring in their past. All of which had a bad season, so I’m not sure it’s fair to blame nylanders lack of success on them.
I think we are in the same boat that there is nothing to be done with nylander other than put him with Matthews and hope things get better.
Which leaves the hole at 3c which despite being a meathead kadri fulfills quite well at 4.5m |

Because it's money spent on defense and not up front.
Ellis doesn't play small and his contract may be long but the cap hit is pretty reasonable for what he does. Again, money is better spent on the blueline at this point. |

1st in blocked shots, 2nd in hits, 2nd in ice time, 2 min per game on PK, 2 min per game on PP. Played every single game.
And that's on a deep Predator blueline.
The guy has always seemed like a warrior going back to his junior days. |
