When I saw this yesterday I figured the kid wanted to play more games. In the long run this could be the better decision than staying. |

The wrong team moved on in that SJ series. Watching game 6 SJ was getting away with a bunch of clutching and grabbing and we’re getting outplayed the majority of the time. Wrong team moved on I hope Colorado stomps them |

I think LVK were the better team, but the better team doesn't always win. That's why you want to make the playoffs as much as possible anything can happen. |

Agreed all the way around. The referees overreacted to Pavelski being injured. It was a two minute minor at most. LVK players whining about the referees is sour grapes. You can't allow 4 PP goals. That's absurd. - PLindbergh31
While I agree they cant give up 4 pp goals, they should never have been in a 5 minute major to begin with.
That call was even more absurd. You may call it sour grapes but the complaint is legitimate.
And I was for San Jose!

Bill Meltzer: Report: O'Brien Headed to BCHL
Hey Bill,
I know a during the playoffs there are still actually things to cover, and that material is few and far between during the summer, but when do you think the profiles for upcoming rookie targets for the Flyers will start coming out? This offseason may be the most pivotal in recent Flyer history, maybe going back to the summer of '07, as with most Flyers fan I'm sure I'm just really anxious. Love your work though, keep it up! |

I wonder if there has been any consideration of replacing the Kate Smith statue with an Andrew MacDonald statue. |

Imagine how Cody Eakin felt sitting in the box thru that. |

I find a statue of MacDonald offensive. I'd remove it the immediately after it was erected. |

Helpless. Reactionary call by the referee no doubt. But I'm sorry you can't allow 4 PP goals in 4 minutes. That is ridiculous. |

I read a story on The Athletic that they want to keep Gardiner but can't afford his likely $6m+ AAV, so Ghost might work better for them.
The thing is the Leafs like Jake Gardiner. He fits their idea of what a new-age NHL defenceman plays like: fast, mobile and able to move the puck. They’ve told him they would try to keep him, never fully closing that door.
What Gardiner likely doesn’t fit is the Leafs budget for 2019-20 and beyond. Even with the injury that derailed his second half, he is likely to command big money in free agency – likely to the tune of $6-million a season on a long-term deal. With so few top-four defencemen going to free agency this summer, it’s expected there will be a handful of teams that will lineup to offer at least that, including some contenders in the Western Conference.
I also don't want to trade Ghost this summer. I'd like to see what he can do fully healthy under AV. But the value-wise, Ghost for Kadri is pretty close. |

I feel better as a fan of a team that missed the playoffs than I would if my team made it, went up 3-1 in the first round, then blew a 3-0 lead in game 7 after a dodgy penalty call. Talk about a bitter pill to swallow. |

I guess the only solace you take from that is they are in the infancy of their franchise, and they've been a damn good team already. Still brutal blowing a 3 goal lead in game 7 no matter who you are. |

Referring to the Draft or to players who might be rookies on the Flyers to start next season? If it's the latter, only Myers with Farabee having a small chance and Frost a smaller one. |

I would probably do that.
I would also be interested in if you could do something like:
To Florida: Gostisbehere
To Philadelphia: Trocheck

I was referring to the draft, and the usual write ups you do about potential players being picked at number 11 for the Flyers. I'm sure it's a little early to discuss but chomping at the bit over here for the offseason to be in full swing. its so tough to watch awesome, meaningful hockey (still enjoyable obviously) just a little less with the Fly Guys not a part of it... |

Horrible and ridiculous call against LVK, that being said they gave up 3 goals on one power play and they own that. |
