Matthews should’ve played 22 mins. It’s Game 7. - Steven_Seagull
Canes regularly get Aho 23+ minutes when they're behind in games.
It's legitimately insane that there were times none of Marner/Matthews/Tavares were on the ice in the 3rd. |

The leafs are built for the regular season. Not the playoffs. Lots of passengers. Imagine, this team is no better than the 2013 team when it matters. All the skill in the world but afraid to take a hit. Not one forward prepared to take the penalty to protect a star. Why would you when management will cave regardless? - aminnes
Same as many 100+ point teams then. |

The thing is the LW on that line really doesn't have to do anything. Doesn't even touch the puck that often. Tavares doesn't pass and Marner only passes to Tavares.
Get to the front of the net and act like a Richard. That's it. - walshyleafsfan
Take Abdelkader for that. He’s faster and a better contract. Do it b |

Babcock on Jake Gardiner: He's not mobile, it's unfortunate, but he tried to give us what he could and tried to help us. You know, obviously any time you're playing a guy that's not 100 per cent, you think he's better than the guys that are available that are 100 per cent... and rightly so.

It's a fair criticism. Babcock didn't sign Nylander to a garbage contract and Babcock had no say on what defensemen that were acquired during the season. That was Dubas. Mussin is a good defenseman, but the team required help on the right side. That's on Dubas, as is the toughness issue.

All true. I don't hate the bruins for the way they play hockey. They play to win. I hate the fact that they are dream-crushers, soul destroying dread-mongers. In my mind, they seem to enjoy the roll. - bloatedmosquito
They are actually very smart - they know when and how to play on the edge, they hit to hurt and they know that they are going to get away a poop ton more than other teams. Can't blame the players for that.
I'm sure you know how infuriating it is - the officiating or lack thereof does always seem to be a factor with the Bruins |

We need a guy that can be our 2C while Mittelstadt grows into the role
Sutter definitely isn’t that guy |

Zero accountability from the coach. Just more bullpoop about learning to win and digging deep. His attitude in that entire presser was the sign of the biggest problem. Spew your autolines, take zero accountability for anything, and walk the second someone asks why you play Marleau with the net empty.
Babcock thinks he made zero mistakes, and that will never change. He's to predictable and it won't fly in today's NHL. Other coaches are adapting on the fly and he's rolling 4 lines thinking the team let him down.... |

Stop going on about Nylander's contract. Lou signed Marleau, That's far worse.
If Dubas gets a RH shot Kapanen is gone. |

He did, however, regularly put Gauthier on the ice in the 3rd period of a game 7 in which they were trailing. |

Ok, but I saw them play on the Leafs. I don't see why I have been proven wrong. Both weren't good enough to play in game 7 last year. |

Rasmus Ristolainen wants out of Buffalo and he fits the bill. Large, plays 25+ minutes a game. Plays the PP and PK. Can play the roll as a douchebaggery type of player. He's exactly what the Leafs require and he shoots right and is young enough. |
