And season dies on Nylander’s stick because he is afraid of being hit.
- iTOLDu

seriously, that was a fitting end.

I bet Nylander had the best advanced stats of any Leaf forward tonite.

On a serious note - what they decide to do with that guy will tell us a lot about "how big their window really is"...

seriously big decision... can the Leafs live and thrive without Nylander's 7 goals...

A few of us have been saying this, need speed with size and grit, players that battle for pucks, knock players off the puck.

If your talent is not going to do it, you need to bring players that will.

Yep. You need talent on the top 6, bottom 6 not so much. Of course, if you are going to play your stud 18 minutes then maybe you do need skill on the 4th line?

So..

How much does Marner get? And does he have any demand as to coaching changes?

This team will get better each year. Next year we need to replace Gardiner with a competent d, and we need better depth up front on our bottom 6. NOT SKILL. Depth grinders with speed. A few vets... just not as veteran as Marls...

ANd if you can trade Willy for a D, do it...

- Hockey_Reverend
. Hope so, but cap situation made this a big window this year. They will be worse next year unless nepo Dubas makes more than one steal trade.

We talking like a Tucker? Green? Corson?

LOL they were beauties... met Darcy a few weeks back, nice guy

- Hockey_Reverend

Yeah. Guys who take liberties, but not as obvious as Kadri.

Leafs have no push back whatsoever, which gives the opponent confidence, plus a tactic to get the Leafs off their game for 5-10 mins.

Meh, trade Willy. There’s 7 mill. Hopefully Marls retires. Dump Brown and his 2 million.

Sign grinders with size for cheap. We don’t need more skill.

Possibly give Rosen a shot. Sandin? Those are cheap contracts.

Ever notice that people who don't cheer for the leafs in Toronto are surrounded by people who do cheer for the leafs and who insist on talking about the leafs to the non leafs fans when the non leafs fan's team loses or struggles, etc... even when they don't want to talk about that or about the leafs and then people who cheer for the leafs wonder why the non leaf fans in Toronto start talking about the leafs to the leafs fans if the leafs lose or if the non leafs fan's team does well?? have you wondered about that at all??
- kaptaan

Well I don't live in Toronto, soooo no. But I'll talk hockey to anyone who wants to win or lose. I can't speak for others.

Leafs are probably bottom five in league in defense. They are so bad in front of him. Can’t believe the saves the guy is forced to make. Had a great series. Not even close to the problem. I get the first one, it was soft. But still far far from the problem. Early in the game. If you think that’s what takes the team down then you know nothing about hockey and pointing the wrong direction. They’re professional hockey players-I think they should bounce back from an early one. It’s on the whole team and coaching staff.
- iTOLDu

He's middle of the pack. He's not stealing poop but a team can win with him if they play proper. He's no superstar that's for sure.

not really - should Leaf fan give a rats ass if Vancouver is good or bad - that's an individual call.

when some donkey wanders in here making Luongo for Kadri, Bozak and 2 1sts arguments... that's kind of an invitation to be abused - badly.

it would be really interesting (if I cared enough) to look back at some of the comments in here made by Canuck fans, and Sens fans when the Leafs were really bad... I'm not thinking many were of the "understanding" variety - but lots and lots of them were very TROLLY...

but knock yourself - prove me wrong

Maybe if you stayed off of Leaf fan forums you would have less Leaf fans talking to you about the Leafs.
