Good series guys. I’ll leave this room for a few weeks if you want me to. I’d like to still be welcome, but I’d understand. - RickJames77
You're always welcome. Good luck against the Jackets, I think you'll need it. |

Babs talking...
He thinks they played good...
Does that include Nylander? Gardiner? - Hockey_Reverend
Babcock is a decent coach. But he’s famous because of JS Giggy and the Eurotwins. |

There is regular season good, and then there is the guts and heart necessary to succeed in the playoffs.
regular season, Andersen bailed their asses out all year.
Playoffs, Andersen sh1ts the bed in game 7 and the rest of the team fails to show up, again.
If nothing changes, we can expect the same.
and WTF is Dubas going to do about this? He has zero cap. In fact, they are going to lose some good players this off-season. - Aetherial

can't blame the goalchie… this guy was money, can't blame him if the other guys got more will to win... leafs should have closed this out in game 6 and not even let it get to game seven... - kaptaan
I'm not blaming him, believe me I understand there were more glaring issues with this team. And I know an extra save won't put the puck in their net.
Other issues will be isolated before that becomes a question. |

No problems RJ, IMO, you are always welcome. It isn't your fault our team spicly failed again and there is clearly something wrong that has not much to do with talent.

No, you have to blame the goalie, he had one soft goal...so ITS ALL HIS FAULT.
lol
Jesus.
I kid. |

Dubas has backed himself into a corner now where trading Kadri will
be one of only 2-3 options. Nylander is now untradable despite the fact he could have sat through all if this for nothing. Instead he sat through it for 10 million. Meanwhile the Islanders. Wake up leaf fans, management still is inept. - aminnes
Yes, everything is Dubas’ fault. Gonna blame 9/11 and Pearl Harbour on him too? |

Can someone ask Babs why he played an injured Gardiner over Rosen?
CAn someone ask Babs why MAtthews had 18 minutes?
CAn someone ask Babs why his coaches cant teach these players to kill penalties?

Rask didn't have to make many ten-bellers though. The Leafs sent a lot of pucks on the net but not a lot down low.

Sickening end to the season, but predictable. The same people who cost them game 7 a year ago, cost them again this year. Kyle Dubas failed this team by not making a trade at the deadline to upgrade the right side of the defence. Dubas cost the team home ice advantage by cheaping out on the backup goalie and bringing up a goaltender that wasn't ready and may never be ready. Mike Babcock did a decent job putting Tavares, Marner and Hyman against the Bergeron line, however the third line was terrible. The Leafs were beaten because the third line was worse than the fourth line. Kadri did what Kadri does, because there is no team toughness and they get outworked on the boards. Marleau is finished as a top 9 forward, but the contract is a millstone.
What should happen, but probably won't:
Andersen - Keep, he's the team backbone.
Sparks - Move, he's an AHL stiff.
Gardiner - Let go, he's a disaster in big games.
Rielly - Keep, he's a top 5 NHL defender.
Mussin - Keep, he's a solid second pair defender.
Hainsey - Let go, he's slowing down.
Zaitsev - Should let go, but had a decent playoff.
Dermott - Keep, his first full year and is developing.
Rosen - Keep, good upside.
The rest of the defense should be sent packing.
Matthews - Keep, the future Captain.
Tavares - Keep, leading goal scorer.
Kadri - Move, can't control his emotions.
Gauthier - Keep, a decent 4th line centre.
Kapanen - Keep, but tradeable.
Johnnson - Keep, but tradeable.
Marner - Keep, leading point getter.
Hyman - Keep, determination on the forecheck.
Brown - Trade, little upside.
Nylander - Trade, he's overpaid and not producing.
Marleau - Move if he could be moved, but the contract won't allow it.
Innis - Keep, good 4th line player on a cheap contract.
Moore - Keep, good 4th line player with upside.
This team needs to move around 4 forwards and upgrade it's size and tenacity. The defence needs at least 2, if not 3 mostly right shot defencemen with toughness. Stand pat and this team will lose again to the Bruins next year. |

I disagree with this. Boston has plenty of skill, that's part of the reason why they are moving on - pwasil7
Not even close to Toronto skill wise. 100X the will. |

This team played at a .500 level over a 3 month span.
Babcock has lost the team. They aren't interested in playing hard for him and don't believe in him. - Mr_Smokey
it's a bunch of teenagers and a few early 20 guys plus hainsey marleau freddy tavares hyman and muzzin.
it's not a coaching issue.
it's a boys team still.
bruins were playing like men. leafs just rolled over.
cannot underestimate the nylander signing effect - a bad teammate getting overpaid and then drags down the team is a clear signal management has mismanaged the team - not the coach |

They played good enough to win.
Couple soft goals took the momentum and wind out.
Not everyone played well. But overall they had more chances. Rask was better |

Playing Matthews so little in this game is unfathomable.
Playing marleau at all so late is inexcusable.
The pk couldn't kill a penalty.
The pp was inept.
The embarassing goalie pull game 6.
A lot of issues fall on the coaches. |

Thanks everyone. Your time is coming and I mean that. I’m out for the rest of the night, but your team really impressed me. I don’t think it’s time to make crazy changes. You all win if Kadri doesn’t get suspended. |
