This is why the media dumps on the leafs
THIS GAME IS WHY.
To all those who constantly complain about "oh boo hoo the media is saying bad things about the leafs"
This is why.
They had a chance to change the narrative. Failed.
Ah well. Always next year. - Fakepartofme
Fatboy said that in the intermission commentary too... that they could change the narrative and then Kypreos suggested Freddie try and get a delay of game by knocking the net off the moorings... |

Kadri also better (frank)ing cry on camera or im done wiht him tooo |

I like that this has ended ugly. Its been ugly for a long time. Good from far, far from good.
I actually think Shanny will be fvcking pissed at what he's seen. He's literally the only guy in the organization I'm certsin has any balls. - fifty__missions
Yep. he’s a beast. Still don’t understand the Dubas hiring. Let’s hire a guy with 0 NHL experience... what could go wrong... |

Well a trade is possible but what team will take a chance on Nylander after this season, not getting much. - LeafMan
When a guy like that has a year this bad you pretty much have to give him another year and hope he fixes his game. Hopefully he's back to a 60+ point player next year. I think he will be. Just don't play him with Brown and Marleau please. |

We will take a high priced contract off of your hands, for a prospect. Or maybe just sign Kapanen to a rfa offer sheet |

No mention of Kadri in the post-mortem.

This is insane. You are a drama queen. The Leafs are a good team. But they aren't there yet. They will be. Dubas has watched this team and learned their pros and cons and will adjust accordingly. |

Could kid have let Nylander sit all year and would have changed nothing whatsoever. Nothing. He was utterly pointless as an addition. They would have finished in the same spot after the season. He did literally nothing. Zero. He is one of a handful of bums that many people excluding leafs management knew were part of the problem not the solution. It's actually sad that certain fans can see things that millionaire managers can't even grasp. 7 games was a fluke. No business with that PK. Maybe if Babs got his wish and the nets were bigger lol. - aminnes
You're not seeing anything that the managers aren't seeing..., you're inventing your own narrative.
Stop embarrassing yourself. |

It just feels like Babcock never felt any urgency. I know he likes his style of play but it hasnt produced results in 10 playoff attempts. It cannot always be the guys on the ice. |

meh, it's going to happen over and over and over again. After 5 years, when Matthews doesn't re-sign, we can look forward to the next rebuild.

I expect coaching changes, at least two assistants, Babcock is coming back for one more chance.
No cap space to improve from outside, it has to come from within or find a gem overseas. - LeafMan
gardiner gone
maybe some team wants to take a chance on nylander
kadri to dallas or nashville
surely there will be some room.
need a backup goalie.
need linemates for matthews.
johnsson probably gone as well.
the d wasnt the issue for leafs.
hainsey played great - he'll be back next season on third pair.

I’m not happy the Leafs lost..
But if there’s a silver lining, they lost because of all the things I said they need to fix. Coaching, defence, Nylander and Gardiner.. |

Petan could have saved the series. Is he the only deadline addition that didn't actually play a playoff game for his team? What a joke Dubas is. Although I do like his grandpa in the Soo. |

I am surprised anyone thought there was even the slightest chance of the Leafs winning.
Series was over after the first period on Sunday. - Aetherial
I’m pissed I missed this game.
Who was to blame really?
Outside of Shanahan, Babcock, Dubas, Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Gardiner or David Clarkson? |
